Translating Content For My Web 2.0s With Google Translate?

I'm creating some web 2.0 for a site in my country. The problem is that i get bored really fast when writing articles, so i came up with an idea: what if i copy some articles written in english, translate them in the language of my website via google translate, edit them a bit to make them more readable, and publish them to my web 2.0 sites?

Will those web 2.0 be considered unique in Google eyes or will they be considered duplicated content?

You are basically stealing content which is not only unethical (in my view at least) but it is also illegal - have a look at the international treaty on intellectual property, all countries are signed up and they do discuss this matter specifically -

That being said, if you don't care about the legality issue or the ethical one, using them in that manner should cause you no trouble. They will get indexed, they will rank and they will do a great job End of the day, it is completely unique content.

I guess its just like any other thing, if you don't care about getting into people's homes and stealing a few items + cash, then you got yourself an easy and good money making job!

OP I would not use Google Translate, find another translation site not related to Google. Just to be safe.

I understand what you are saying, but isn't that basically what every seo program does? It is taking articles online, spinning them, and publishing it as new articles. And i bet that 90% of BHW uses at least one seo program...

It works, to be safe combine parts of articles to create one article that you'll use on your web 2 and translate it to any language you like.

Yes, it is ok to do. Yes, it will be unique content (unless someone else has used the same text), but I think kypso's response above is the important one. Google translate will spit out crap, and you will need to re-write it. But give it a try, you might be happy with the results.

There is one niche where this works very well, and you can quickly create eBooks with this strategy. I'll let you work out the niche .

Also look at the code of the article, not just text.

You will need to remove the evidence of google translate, as the entire article in its original language will still be there, make sure you delete all of that formatting etc.

i know they are crap, but for me it is much easier to correct an article translated by google translate then write a new one from scratch

The output will be pure crap and unless you spend good amount of time correcting these, you're not going to get good quality articles. IMHO, it's high time that people consider tier1 links as good as their money site pages.
