Here's my story with apps.

When the App Store opened I made 200k. I was only 16 years old. A couple years go by and profits start going down I make more apps and try to buy Facebook ads. I lose over 60K developing apps and buying ads. Now I'm 20 trying to buy a house and I'm pissed off because nothing in apps is making money. If u know the secret to make money with apps now tell me.

$200k is not crazy amounts of money, it may be to a 16 year old, but it is not. I am pretty sure that making 200k is still very simple for someone with knowledge of apps to do.

As for Facebook ads, if I was trying to promote an app I would push it through Facebook Pages owned by kids who think $5 is crazy money. Approach the kids with big Facebook Pages and tell them you will slip them a fiver for a few shout outs on their page.

Looking through the top charts it is all apps that have been there for a long time, and they are all top notch highly polished apps, mostly made by companies. Unless there's a method you guys are withholding, I think making money off the App Store is extremely hard.
