Hello all!

I want to start a new authoritysite about my country.
It offers a wide content such as weather, the cities, sports and even culture.

Are these subjects to wide from eachother to build an authority site or is it ok so i can rank this
website with good content and linkbuilding?

Hope you will understand the question!

Cheers

Its fine. If you know enough about all of those topics then you will be building a site that offers a lot of value to the readers - that in itself is very valuable.

With a site like that you could probably do a lot on social media sites and build a really strong community.

If you are planning to get traffic from search as well, then the only thing you do need to do is some serious keywords research within all of the sub niches.

Its good, you might as well seek contributions from other like minded individuals. Make sure your articles cover things in depth.

Thanks for the answers guys!

Social media is certainly a great way to gain some traffic. I will monetize it through adsense and some affiliates.

Since i'm a beginner in IM, i will write somewhere like 250 articles before monetize the website. It will take me about 6 months. When i do some backlinks and onpage seo, i will get some organic traffic right?

Thanks!

David hit the nail right on the head! The important thing is you pick a niche you know something
about when you start your first authority site. For me that was a family business and for you it
could very well be your country/city.

Having plenty of subjects about a topic is what makes it an authority site to begin with. Focus on
plenty of decent articles, on-site SEO as you go, and then if I was you I would plan on social media,
video syndication, and slow link growth.

Good luck!

PS: Yeah 250 articles is a good start, but make sure you research keywords and LSI friendly
vocabulary for those articles. I can't tell you what your organic traffic would be like or even make
an estimated guess with the lack of niche/keyword info.

If there's search volume and demand then build it healthy and slow. Bank on the long term! :)

I will deff research the keywords and the niche. I was just wondering if sports and arts, even if it is for the same country, too far away from eachother.

The linkbuilding is i guess the best to do through PBN?
