Okay, so I'm kinda new to the link building area. So while going through some Alexa rankings for some of my competitors, I found many websites having PR 8-9 sites linking to their site on Alexa. I know Alexa links don't prolly mean much, but there must be some effect to your site with this, and I'm just curious to see how they do this.

Would appreciate some insights!

Those are probably showing from people using alexa toolbar ...

Mistake of Blogging 101:

Never use alexa to check backlinks, they're retarded when it comes to this.

I know of a website which has links from the top 10 websites around the world, and when they did the PR update back then, it still was PR 0..

That's when i know, alexa backlink checker is wonderfully useless.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yes, they are all PR 0. Just curious to see how they achieve it. Only a selected amount of top ranked sites have theses. Not sure if the Alexa Toolbar does it though.

Thanks Anyways :)

Please don't use Alexa to check backlinks. They are not good at it. Instead use Ahrefs or Moz backlink checker.

Use ahrefs and majestic to see what backlinks they have then come back here for clarifications.

There are alot of great tools out there that can help with seo

Those links are not true links from gmail or facebook. They're redirectors from emails received and links posted on the timelines, all either nofollow or blocked by robots.txt

Alexa toolbar probably tracked the person from A to B and now says A links to B, but that's not a SEO worthy link.
