Manual Actions Removal

Hi, just got manual actions on both my authority sites.

"Thin content with little or no added value".

But its all my own original writing of 400 words plus.

I have no idea why they hit both my sites simultaneously since they weren't even in WMT.

Not gonna happen. Stop wasting time. Get a new domain and put the content up again. Most likely a competitor reported it.

Crap like you're experiencing is the ENTIRE reason I don't build sites with "good" content anymore. They will shitcan you for ANYTHING they damn well please. My shit is spun and the call to action ad is front and center. If the site dies, it dies. No matter what if I were you I'd get new sites up ASAP and move as many links over to them from the old site as you can. If you can't than prob just 301 it.

400 words is not good enough, try to get quality content with more than 1000+ words which make sense. I think its because of thin content. Write more content and start optimizing it and you will be back Google. Content should be unique and user friendly. 1000+ words is not for all websites, it depends on your website, if your site is about articles then sure you need to have quality lengthy content, if you site is product base then 400words would be good enough but should be quality
 
As I believe 400+ words are enough because there are forum posts which has only few words and they don't have issues, Big G can do anything that they decide and there might be a reason behind other than what they have mentioned, so you may forgot about what you lost and keep moving with new ideas.
 
Most important thing is content architect,because Google has been reviewing content architect during all the panda updates.
 
Forget those sites and start new ones. Don't make the same mistakes again.
 
I recently got a manual penalty for thin content removed - I added around 20,000 words of content to the site with articles ranging from 650 to 2500 words covering each topic as thoroughly as I could. I also changed the design of my site so that this key content could be found more easily - I think this is important because there is a real human being behind the scenes looking at your site and if they can't see quality within a short space of time, they might be more likely to mark the site as thin.

Thanks for the info, I will try and persevere before I throw in the towel.

Just as I was starting to make enough money to start changing my life they go and do this to me.

It's something I've experienced too - my advice would be to just get up off the canvas, dust yourself down and get back in the fight.
 
trying to write simple words.. don't use more difficult words. this is my suggestion
 
Like everyone suggests, instead of wasting time seeking reconsideration, just start a new website, re-use your old content and improve upon them.
 
It all depends on how much time its going to take to re-write or make the proper edits to make the content seem better. If it's a few 400 word articles then you may as well try - who knows? Worst that can happen is you dont succeed and you de-index and duplicate the site.

Hold on.. So you are saying that G informed you within WMT that your two sites have been hit by a manual penalty even though in your WMT account these web sites are not listed?????? That does not sound right at all... G do not read minds....

That said the only way you can get out of a manual penalty is to make changes and the file for a reconsideration request... It might be easier to climb K2 than to do that... In which case start again... You could use the old domains and attempt a 301 redirect to a new domain to see if you can get some link juice flowing in order to rank your new site... but that said that is also risky with the penalty possibly passing to a new domain.... but at least you can reverse it with regards to removing the 301 redirect.... So in that case move all of the content to a new site and then implement the redirects... and if it works that's a finger back to G... ;-)

Sorry to hear your troubles... G is truly evil...!!! They should put a stop to that stupid slogan "do no evil" when clearly there are as evil as f*** .... #$%?!

I had removed them from WMT, then put them back in to try and see WFT happened, and then lo and behold its a manual action against me.
 
Whether you try to get your old sites out from under penalty or create new ones (contrary to popular belief, you can reuse your old content as soon as it's deindexed), be sure to limit your affiliate linked articles to under 50%. I like to go 1/3 affiliate articles (mostly Amazon at my sites but CJ and others as well) to 2/3 non-affiliate articles (which can be lightly monetized through other means - i.e. ad networks). Most of my articles are 1000 word plus and many are over 2000 words and 5000 word articles aren't uncommon.

At least that is how I do it and I have yet (knock on wood) to receive a thin content penalty.
