Banning from threads

I've been on other forums and when people try to derail threads the people are banned from the individual threads. Why can't BHW do that instead of deleting an entire thread? A few people violating the rules shouldn't ruin things for everyone else.

People that were trolling with political talk and conspiracy theories should be banned from threads. One could make a thread on Kolkata or Bangkok and it will be up until BHW shuts down.

I think the mods here are pretty good doing their job 24hrs, and I don't believe that we need yet another module for doing something that's already done pretty efficiently. The module isn't technically feasible as per my opinion.
Mods do not delete threads that go heywire, they just close it most of the time as per my observation. They only delete threads that are considered as spam. I guess we should better follow the rules instead of acting weird everywhere.

Thanks for your suggestion, although we don't ban on the spot, we warn and then add infractions.

That just makes too much work for the mods. They don't get paid to police this place. I would NEVER want to have that "job" - never. Everyone should send them a few bottles of booze for the holidays so they make it though 2015.

Although I'm on your side with a lot of what you wrote (and especially what Vrill wrote)- politics is not allowed on BHW.
Accept the rule and discuss those topics in other boards.

This is bhw not Reddit , here mods also have to earn money like ordinary users and they are not going to watch bhw whole day.

It might be, but why would you load that module and increase the load time? If that module runs, server has to check in every thread whether you are permitted to view/reply ( or what ever permission you are talking about) or not. That would make a considerable difference in the server resource usage IMO. Then comes the extra moderation work as well.
