I usually use this footprints: keyword "post a new comment" "author" "post"
Usually, the comment is approved. But I don't think it will contribute to increase keyword ranking.

I tried to use scrapebox but the blogs harvested were not that useful.

Only good for second and third tier. dont use it for for 1st tier it will do more harm then good.
BTW these days most sites have captcha so if you are trying to post to them through scarpebox without your catpcha integration then you will get very low success rates
