Somehow, posting this thread worked out. I got offered what seems to be a pretty solid job, and I may actually be able to keep my cats, as well as find a decent living space. I'll keep you guys posted, but things are looking up!

Just read your full story and man we all can make mistakes like that. This is a hard ass business
lesson you are learning. Unfortunately you're going to have to take a couple of steps back, reflect
on the mistakes you made, and then set up a business model that has more than one source of income...

Relying on one thing is not "making it" at all. You need several income streams and plenty of cash
back for research and development. Of course I am sure you're kicking yourself right now and know
what I am preaching to you.

Heck you need some money to make money online. If you have video creation skills and can write
good articles then open up some services on different platforms like Fiverr etc. But yeah get a job man
and suffer through it. You will come out of it as a better business man and hopefully you can get your
pets back at some point.

So, let me explain what I have been doing for a living in the past 14 month:

I've been a content creator on YouTube. Collectively, I was earning close to $2,200 - $3,100 a month for a while between that and a few other small things. It got to the point where travel was very necessary for what I was doing, so I started attending events like E3 and Vid-Con. That is where I messed up, because I began spending close to every penny I was earning, instead of saving.

And as most content creators, I overestimated the success of my channel, and believed it would permanently be stable. I plan on bringing it back up again, but right now, I'm not really in a position to do that.

When I was evicted, I was simply rescuing too many animals. I had more pets than my building allowed, so I fortunately found somewhere else to stay. Now, the family I am with, they have been very supportive of what I've been doing, but they just don't have the space for me anymore, which I understand completely.

In the time I was here, I should have been focusing more on saving. I fully acknowledge that I was the one that screwed up.

Maybe start vlogging the current situation you are in and the daily struggles. Put the posts up on the once popular youtube channel and see how it goes? Track everything from moving out to applying for offline jobs ect. You never know and what could it hurt?

I met a 'soon to be' homeless guy a week ago - so basically same situation. I was sitting outside with some friends and we invited him to join our table. He had lots of weird ideas that can easily get him in trouble as a foreigner here in the Philippines so we advised him.
In the end I told him of an easy way to earn at least $20/day - more if he puts more effort into it - I even offered him to meet up sober and explain it further...

Think I ever heard back from this guy?

I'm on a special alumni list for a very expensive university I graduated from years ago. Every 2 weeks I get a huge list of very unique, valuable, hard to find job offers. It's a very long, awesome list. And I'm not sure why I still get it but if you want, I can forward you the list twice a month.

There are AWESOME job opportunities on it. No garbage like Mickey D's or working at Dunkin Donuts. There are a lot of rich professors, business owners, etc who post on this list cause they know it gets mailed out to educated alumni. With that said, at least 40% of the job offers you don't even need experience. There are tons of people offering $20-$30 an hour for simple things like being an office assistant to all sorts of things.

Also, this has got to be said. But if there is 1 thing my parents nailed through my head when I was young, it was to SAVE MONEY and live FAR BELOW my means.

Not all my brothers took that advice. Some had to buy huge homes and I have 1 brother specifically who makes 2 1/2 times more than I do, but has 4 times less in his bank. I'm very proud of the fact that I live like a frugal, jew bastard, in a relatively small home. I have no reservation in admitting that I buy discount everything. Discount veggies, meat, anything that is on sale. I make my own soaps and detergents. I eat out maybe once a month at most. And I'm always looking for the cheap way to do things. I'm probably 1 of very few people who has a separate bank account just for my dog (under my name of course lol). I put away $30 every week in that account. Cause I know she has heart issues, one day she is going to need an expensive heart valve surgery, and I started saving for it quite literally the same week I got her (she was a rescue dog).

In a very strange way, I feel like serving time also helped me a lot. When you are forced to live for a long enough time period without any real material items, you very quickly learn what's important in life and what is not.

A new car is not important to me. Neither is a new house, new clothes, new sneakers, new anything. I've been going to CollingWood flea market since I was 6, I'm now 32 and I still go. What's funny, I rarely spend more than $20 when I do go. I just like to walk around and see what everyone is selling.

The point I'm trying to make here, you can be the Vice President of a well known brokerage firm, make half a million a year but still be broke as fuck. Never forget I told you that.

First of all, I am NOT going homeless, and I WILL be keeping my pets. A few people who responded to this thread were actually able to offer me quick gigs that paid considerably well. Not sure if any of these will turn into something long-term, but in any case, I am out of my current crisis situation.

With some luck, my YouTube channel is picking up again, so that's always a plus. On Twitter, I hit a major milestone today (40k followers!) So I've got hope in content creation again for the future. On top of that, a friend of mine actually did offer to help me fix my car, which should be done sometime this week.

I did see someone in this thread who is relatively close to me, so maybe I'll see if there are any local career opportunities for me!

I would never put all my eggs in one basket.

The best advice I was ever given was "Never rely on ONE pay check"

I have 5-6 methods on the go right now, if one fails then no biggy I have another 4 making me money.

I also work full-time because the money I'm making on IM ($2k a month) isn't anywhere near enough for me to comfortably pursue 100%.

You need a permanent job UNTIL your making enough money that you can honestly live off and SAVE for a rainy day. Unless your making $100k a year I wouldn't quit my job anytime soon.

Experiment now and try different methods because you won't be able to have this second chance when you have a family, mortgage and more pets.

And like I said, if you encounter anymore bs in the future, I know you'll LOVE the list I get. Within 3-5 calls you can find yourself hired for a $20+/hour job doing something you actually enjoy. None of these jobs get posted on indeed, careerbuilder, monster or craigslist. I saw someone offering $30 / hour just to pick up a phone, answer calls and enter order details in an excel spreadsheet. They also wrote in the ad, "need to be able to work alone for hours at a time" lol. Which is a dream for most people. No boss barking down your neck. No high pressure sales techniques.

There's a lot of gems like that on the list.

Anyway, glad to hear the good news.

I had a friend, whom was a perpetual fucktard, he enjoyed the drama of being of being semi-homeless every couple months. Anyhow a mutual friend we shared, whom may have been a member here, told be a bit of wisdom. If you need a cheap place to hang out and shower, have a toilet, and maybe do something for a few hours that is dirt cheap, find a 24 hour gym. Even if you live in a car. For $40 a month if not cheaper, you can clean up and go on job interviews. Beats a trucker stop with $8 to $15 showers cause you don't have a rig to fuel up.

There are also so many people in foreclosure, you can find someone to split the "rent" of bills till they get pitched. I would look on CL or Backpage for someone.

You can also squat a house too. The way this gets done by entering a property. You go to Staples and get a blank lease. You fill that out completely. If a cop shows up. You say you are renting. Cause there is a lease now, it becomes a civil matter and such the cop leaves you alone.

As long as you have a valid driver's license, someone will hire you off Backpage or Craig's List to drive a car or truck for a bit. You can also work at LABOR READY temp agency.

Dollar General is your friend for food and necessities.

In the end, I write this in case anyone else falls into a situation like this. I hope everyone else that helped you out worked out for you.
