Need advice from PBN Owners

Hey guys,

I am thinking of investing in my own PBN once I have read up on it a little more but I was wondering if you guys are able to help me with two main questions before I invest my time in reading.

1 - If I actually fill the blogs with content rather then 301ing them will the blog posts I put out still hold authority once they roll off the front page of will the page they link to drop in rankings ?
2 - Whats more valuable, 10 x PR3 blogs or 2 x PR5 ? I plan to have a wide spread of domains ranging from PR2 through to PR5 over time but I can't really get my head around the value of domains of different PRs.

Any help is appreciated.

Keep reading before you take the plunge Shaun. I say this because of your reference to PR, PR is an outdated measurement of a website's effectiveness because Google haven't externally updated it for quite some time. It can be tempting to cling to PR as a measurement of a website's power but don't do it.

1. If they are linked to from somewhere on the front page there will not be a drop in effectiveness of linking from these articles. The front page of a website is usually only the most 'powerful' because it has the most inbound links going to it. The further removed you are from the front page, the further removed you are form these inbound links, so yes, if there isn't a direct link from the front page some loss will occur.

2. Don't think in terms of PR. Use the following measurement to gauge a website's 'power' but don't rely on them exclusively. Use them instead merely as a guide to rule out poor domains. These are TF/CF/DA. You'll need to research and understand these metrics to understand their shortcomings, having done this you'll realise (hopefully) that only manual checking of back-links coupled with these metrics can be relied upon.

1. You need to ask yourself how many different money sites you are going to be linking to on the one site - if you link to too many from the same network then this is a footprint that Google and others can identify, so I only use each PBN site for one (or sometimes a small handful) of money sites. This way I can create static homepage content or sticky blog posts so that my link(s) remain on the front page.

2. Other than the points raised above about PR, the mix you propose is a good idea. Having a greater number of network sites will allow you to diversify your anchor texts which helps you target more long tails while keeping things looking more natural. But then again, having a few links from some sites with higher trust and authority is also going to give you something that you can't get from the lower value domains/sites.
