Hey people,

As the title says googlebot stopped visiting my site. My site is around a month old and every day ive been adding 1,2,3 Unique articles, the googlebot visited these new articles every single time i published one.

Until now, 4 days ago googlebot stopped visiting my site, actually thats a bit of a lie because it visited my site just 20 minutes ago, but only the homepage according to statcounter, it should be visiting the new articles right?

Im doing nothing blackhat at all, there are no warnings or manual actions in GWT. Ive not even started creating backlinks yet, ive focused solely on quality unique content.

So what could be the reason? Did googlebot decide my site wasn't worth visiting ever day?

Cheers,

You are paying too much attention to Google.

Keep it calm and build content. You don't need google to watch over you every step right now. It will come back sooner or later. As long as you are building a good site google will automatically like it.

Maybe you should try leaving the door unlocked so he can get in, maybe he lost the key.

You shouldn't worry about that. The crawling frequency tends to be higher on the first crawls after the site has been published. Then it looks like they adjust the frequency according to your site authority. Once you get a stronger link profile you will see more frequent crawls.

submit it on webmaster tool and they will inform if your site has any problem,

Yes, same to blackpayman733.

Submit your site on Webmaster Tool, You will get all the data About your site & whats going on.

Don't worry about how often Googlebot is visiting your website, you just keep working on improving it. The better your site will be, the more often Googlebot will visit it.

Thanks guys, yeah i submitted my site to google webmaster from the start. I was just worried that google was crawling my site every day until recently. Its a news site, and maybe im wrong but if google doesn't crawl my latest written articles then they wont compete for top spot?

I written a 500 word news article yesterday for example, the particular subject of news hadn't been written about by any of my competitors not even the big boys. So thought that once google crawled that particular article that it would stand a better chance of being on page one for the keywords i used. 10 hours later all my competitors had written about the same subject which all ranked higher than mine. Hope that makes sense, i still consider myself to be a noob very much.

Like i said in my original post i have only been adding quality written unique content to my site and will continue to do so, but i have done nothing in terms of backlinks. Something i should be thinking about doing soon i suppose. Which is something i worry about, ive read tons of threads and looked at many BST's but im still not sure how to tackle it.

I wouldn't worry unless Google stops visiting your site completely for long periods of time and/or de-indexing your pages.

Google webmaster tools and Bing webmaster tools make it easy to keep on top of things without investing lots of time.
