(btw I'm a newbie) I am currently at a couple hundred followers and averaging around 50 likes on each photo. I've already set up a wix site for "giveaways" I plan to do on the account. I already have setup a survey people must take before entering. But I have not yet published the site or giveaway. I'm not sure what to do next. If I should keep trying to get followers, start publishing the giveaways and see how I do, or do something different. Thanks for your help.

Dude, wait till you have AT LEAST a couple thousand followers. In fact, some people here just build there account until it has 10k+ followers and then do this type of think. Nobody believes an account with 200 followers, you'll lucky just to get one survey completed.
Than what would be the most effective way to get to couple thousand followers?

A couple hundred followers and 50 likes/day is a good start but still a very small instagram account.. you gotta build that a lot bigger to expect anything in return. several thousand followers and hundreds of likes on each pic at least
