So Instagram is "adjusting"follower counts, everyone will be affected...for about 5 mins

So instagram released a statement that they are fixing inflated follower counts. If you haven't read it:

So pretty much as soon as you're accounts are adjusted, I have a solution for everyone:

1. Make sure your account was fully deflated
2. Make sure other high follower accounts were deflated as well
3. Buy or accumulate new followers, which will be cheaper and include more people to counter balance this
4. Make sure popular accounts still have less followers than you
5. ???
6. Profit

Yeah I assume so, because once an account is deleted then all the fake likes, comments etc., go with it. Now if they were doing something like resetting the accounts, like making them start back at 0, the likes would stay, but it says clearly they are removing accounts, so I assume so.

The thing is no one knows what they consider fake, spam, bot, etc., How long before they consider an account inactive to delete it, and whether this is going to rely solely on reporting or some other algorithm they have come up with, which still most certainly will not get everything.

The funny thing is, 7 million new accounts are created each month, so it honestly is more of a cleanup than anything else.

Do you really think it took them 4 years to program something as simple as adjusting follower counts and calling it a glitch?

No, it is just literally impossible for them to track how many accounts are real, bots, or the like. They do a good job of removing big fake accounts, but small ones get away with it for the most part because they are so easy to make.

As an example I have a "friend" who bought 2000 instagram followers, and bailed on the account. After about a year he logged back on and noticed he about lost 20% of his followers from his initial purchase.

This "fix", is just a clean up, nothing more, nothing less. Oh and my friend is going to lose his additional 1600 followers on a blank account he spent 7 dollars on a year ago, boo-hoo.

As far as my concern i think this all is just a simple clean-up.

To be honest what do you think will happen if they delete some accounts from real people? I don't think they will delete any accounts.

And if they will delete some they probably delete the accounts like 0 Posts, 20 followers, 1499 following or something like that.

of course fake accounts are no good but right now there are accounts gaining well over 20k followers per day from this "account deletion"

People are gullible from this "account deletion" use that to ur advantage while you can, it only last a week or so
