All Penguin Updates Were Completely Rolled Back Last Night

So, my metrics and tracking are showing a complete rollback of all Penguin updates, dating back to 2012. That's right, sites previously punished and not showing since 2012 era are now back ranking in the top 10 for huge terms again. It appears that pure (GSA/SB/Xrumer) spam sites are still gone, but crap spun blog networks, duplicate content, and other style sites are all back with a vengeance. This includes every one of my sites that has ever been punished.

I'm watching this roll out across regions now, and I'm seeing the revival of ~200 of my websites I have abandoned over the years. Oftentimes this means with my new sites (still ranking as well) my sites are controlling entire verticals, often 7-8 out of the top 10 are owned by me in nice $$$ niches.

Someone else has to have seen this? This has occurred in every niche not under manual review I track (so roughly 700).

In my niche, I've noticed a good number of sites that use the same text over and over again for each city has been doing really really well for the past couple of weeks. I'm thinking of making a second site with an expired domain with just duplicate crap to see if it shoots up.

Interesting. Can't say I've noticed anything with my sites, though. Makes me wonder why they've done this and how long it's going to last.

Haven't noticed anything either. We'll know over the next few days if something is really going on or not.

No offense OP, but this has got to be 1 of the dumbest titles I've ever read in my life.

I'm fairly confident Google did NOT roll back "all" their penguin updates dating back almost 3 years.

I sense a shitton of idealism / projection in your post.

From what I've seen things have just been very weird lately. I had some sites go from pages 10-16 straight to the top 5 of Google, stay there a week, drop back to pages 10-16, and today they're on pages 1,2 & 3.

I DO believe something strange is going on but I can't stand when people make unfounded claims and pretend to know shit they know they don't know.

I made a post today talking about a niche i follow where a site that were hit by the last penguin, and ranking with pure hacked links and russian pbs pop back to the first spot in google.

There is something going on and for a fact google delivers all but quality result pages.

Yes google is up to something
We just have to wait and see

Maybe they are preparing to release the SKUNK algo. Hey, it's a black and white animal...

They're rolling out the new Reindeer algo for Christmas. Or not. Something is definitely going on, but yeah, as BB said it's not like they have rolled back everything to 2012.

I have seen several of my sites that was hit a few years ago appearing back, nothing significant, and they have been coming back over the past few months. As for roll back or all algos, I do not think so, I just guess there must be some kind of time limit to penalties.

I first described this as a roll back, then I didn't, then I did, then I didn't, and now I do.

I think the point, quite clearly, is that I have absolutely no idea what is going on, except that in every niche that I operate, I've been a beneficiary of this last week of 'tweaking'.

Well, this has some truths in it. I was about creating a thread similiar to this one, because google did something unlikely some few days ago.

I saw sites that were hit by google last penguin update coming back to their position.. But sincerely, not all of the websites.

OP should also know that some sites did not make it that far!

I saw a huge spike on one of my main sites - almost all my KWs went up to #1 for about 2 weeks. Now they've balanced out again to about what they were before. Hopefully they take the tweaks back to last weeks data :P

If you look at some very competitive financial niches you will see sites that got hammered waaaay back in the day poking through again.

Dead are rising...

I sold a penalized EMD with 160k exact searches that I spammed the fuck out of for a few grand about a year ago. Buyer knew it was penalized. Just checked and it's sitting at #12. I'm not sure when penalty was removed, but the fact that it's #12 with pure spam is pretty amazing.
