I'd like to monetize a very large following on twitter (millions) not exactly sure how I should go about doing so though, I want to make a website of some sort but i don't have many website ideas, i was thinking of setting up a shop and just being the affiliate.

Thoughts?

Just my opinion, but if you have millions of followers on twitter, you should understand marketing enough do this on your own.

I also want to add something. Just because you have a million followers doesn't mean you have an influence with that capacity. I've seen people with a million followers and they only get like 100 retweets or favorites tops. It might be because they bought their followers or because their fan base slowly died overtime. On the other hand I've seen people with 15k followers who get better engagement than that. But if your engagement is great you should know by now how to contact people to monetize. In my experience these people are going to contact you more than you contacting them. In fact I am surprised no one has contacted you if what you are saying is true.

The monetization capabilities and strategies are going to be contingent on the amount of engagement you receive from your audience. Before you setup up affiliates or a blog/site to send them to, you need to know your audience. Their demographics. What do they eat, drink, and love? What are their passions? If you have a very diverse group, which realistically if you built the account to monetize you should not, then this will also present its own assortment of challenges. This is also going to determine if you are going to be a traffic source for niche blogs (decent money), sell Tweets (sucky money), drive your followers to affiliate or your own product sales ( Where the real money would be for you).

I would just sell the account I'd be happy with $10,000
