Amazon associates buying keywords?

Hello,

A basic question from a newbie After researching a lot about amazon associates I decided to try this out. As a person who has only done adsense before, I have a hard time understanding the concept of "buying keywords".

Lets say I'm going to build a website that reviews electric shavers, for an example. I understand that "best shavers", "panasonic shavers", "best shaver reviews" are good buying keywords. When someone is searching for "best shavers" he/she is in a buying mood.

But what about "shavers" ? Is that a buying keyword too. It's hard to believe that someone would search for "shavers" just to obtain information about shavers. They are in a buying mood too right? Am I missing something here? Please help.

(Other examples : "floor polisher", "coffee machines", "espresso machine" etc)

They're only called buyer keywords because a larger percentage of searchers will be ready to convert. Sure, some people searching for "shavers" will be ready to buy as well but the volume of searches is much higher with a lower percentage of potential converters. Buyer-intent keywords typically just mean they're further down the funnel, just a way to differentiate.

The objective is to have a clear line of separation between "buyers" and "information seekers" at the keyword level itself.

A buyer will mostly search with the following words/phrases - "buy", "cheap", "free", "review" followed by a "brand / model name". These are just a few examples of buyer keyword combinations.

If you are paying for the traffic, you would not like "info seekers" clicking on your links, because every click comes at a cost. That way, you actually maintain a good CTR (click-thru-rate) for your keywords at a low CPC (cost-per-click).

For products on Amazon, more longer keywords = more conversion rate and more easy to rank at Google.

e.g: "panasonic shavers" keyword has better conversion rate than "shavers" keyword.

If you are inexperience in SEO at Google, I suggest you to select keywords that have 3 keywords or more.
