$2 CPL or 50% Recurring Commissions?

If you had to choose on an affiliate program would you rather go with a $2 CPL model or hope the traffic converts high enough and the product is sticky to hang on for a 50% recurring commission?

What kind of traffic do you push? Is a 50% recurring model more beneficial to bloggers and $2 CPL better for those with an email list or doing media buys?

currently nothing in terms of traffic but recurring model is anytime better because you reap the benefits of monthly passive income until the customer is paying for the product. Traffic can be any be it media buys or FB advertising.
