Yes you can use the niches you mentioned, anything that is legal. So if its illegal in the US, then I can't do it, as thats where I am and most servers are in US or Canada that I have.

For a new site I would go with Bronze, for a 1yr old site, if you have worked on it could take probably platinum or monster, but that depends on how much. I would recommend if you use a larger package to include tier sites.

The service now includes some in content articles and higher quality sites, so its more suited to a money site, but I wouldn't point a monster package or even a platinum just at a money site unless you are certain it can for sure handle it as its a lot of links no matter what. I do drip feed them more with big packages taking 2-3 weeks to complete now days on average. So all good things, but if your unsure go smaller or include a lot of tier sites.

If its a brand new site I would point it to some web 2.0/tier 1 sites and a little bit to your money site. But in short if your are unsure, point a little to your money site.

This is blackhat yes. Ive never had anyone get a penalty, but if you use the links wrong it could either not help your rank or decrease it.

I don't use skype any more, it took away too much time. I am happy to mail though

But I don't get really involved in giving SEO advice in general. I mean if you are unsure start with the smallest pack, make sure you include a lot of tier sites and a large anchor diversity.
