What's your twitter success tactic?

So I'm a noob and have started a clothing company that I'm very passionate about. After looking at internet advertising prices I figured there had to be a better way. So I found myself browsing this forum for the past week or so. There is some pretty cool stuff I've learned on here so far. I bought some followers(Fake obviously) for my instagram and twitter page and found that it gives me some power. Pretty much when I follow somebody they pretty much follow me back. After figuring that out I've narrowed down my targets using keywords and using programs to follow people. I use iMacros for instagram and I am trying to find a bot to use for twitter.

So as I go through all this I've learned it's better to read from the wise. With me selling clothes and needing customers who will be active, get me retweets, and most importantly sales, what is the best tactics yall have used and turned out to be successful and profitable?

It's all time vs. money. If you have money, I suggest going the "rent a list route." If you have time, forget twitter for the moment, find a fashion forum, and become a contributing member (stick your website's link into your signiture).

Yeah that's my hardest problem is figuring out how to divide my time. Between 8-5 job, school, designing clothes, and working my social media there isn't enough time. What do you mean "rent a list"? I haven't ran into that term yet.

Just out of curiosity, why'd you decide on Twitter? A lot of online stores seem to have quite a bit more success by opening FaceBook pages based on the amount of people who like/share photos of the clothes with their friends.

Do you promote clothes? You need to be diligently uploading images about clothes to Twitter plus hastags daily. And also Pinterest, Facebook page, Instagram.

Persistence is the key to success.

Twitter is great if you can automate some aspect of your activities, but the general consensus is that Pinterest converts a lot better than Twitter, and it's a lot more visual than Twitter, which should certainly help a visual niche like yours.

If you don't have some, you're definitely going to have to invest a bot to automate everything while you're at work. It'll save a lot of time when you can be designing clothes instead

I chose twitter because I had two accounts already and had a combined 8000 followers so I figured it would be a good start. I think Facebook will definitely be my next step. My biggest problem is getting enough sales for me to get minimal shirt orders. I have to have 25 orders before I can buy shirts in bulk. So I'm trying to work to get to that point. My next step business wise is to go to stores and try to get PO's. So if I have a lot of followers and potential customers then that could be a selling point. If I can secure a few stores that'll also help with my bulk purchasing order. But I think I'm about 2 months away from reaching that point. Just trying to stay ahead of the game.

I have an Instagram account that's "sponsored" by my company. And it's my niche that I need to be in and I see steady gains on that. I post picture of people's trophy hunt and catches. Should I try and start another twitter page like that? I've never seen a twitter page where they post user submitted content, which could be a plus.

And I do agree, I've been trying to look into bots to help automate my process. I've been looking at that the past couple of days. Have any of you guys seen a bot that does both twitter and Instagram? I think my best tactic as far as twitter goes is to favorite people's tweets who tweet about my competition, and follow those people too?

Hmm...Iv'e never really though that twitter ads would be very useful but if you are willing to spend money to promote your accounts then it might be worth giving them a try! If you do let us know how it goes!

For a clothing company you Really need to take a deep look at Pinterest.

Full of women, fashion lovers - all genders, strong visual aspect, high in traffic, easy to manage.

Build yourself a nice looking profile, lots of boards, pin your designs, start conversations with pinners with big boards.

If you need any advice on pinterest marketing - there's plenty of info laying around. Bare in mind it's a lot different that it used to be a few months back. Mass spam and using group boards don't work as they used to but if used for maintaining an authority account that posts good content - that would certainly bring some interested eyes to your work.

I did try twitter ads a while back. Not much success. I mean for $15 like 5000 people saw my tweet. It only got me like 15 followers. Personally I ignore twitter ads that are in my timeline.

Jump into people's conversations WITHOUT selling to them.

Search the quote "What goes well with a grey shirt" or "What to wear tonight?" and tell them professional, fashion related advice, NOT "Try our blue jeans" or selling anything whatsoever, just help - the people who would've bought from you still will, being pushy won't do it.

Usually I hire VA with good rating on odesk or fiverr, give him materials, explain to him what are my services/products and he do the rest on twitter. He saves me a lot of time and as you know time = money.

People over think Twitter marketing. Follow people in your niche and stay active. It's that simple.

I don't even use any fancy Twitter tools, just a few simple imacros.

Follow 1,000 people a day and at the end of the week, flush all that aren't following back...Repeat every week.

95% of the time tweet and interact with your followers like a normal person would
The other 5% of the time tweet promoting your products/website

And get banned...Its very simple!

Twitter is awesome. You can automate almost everything on there. The only thing that sucks is that your accounts will be banned so easily nowadays. You really have to be careful.

Most important thing is to set up a few hundred good looking accounts and make them be active 24/7 (following, retweeting, tweeting etc.)

Yesterday for the first time i tried drip feed RT/Favs and it got me some followers rather quickly. But then again i already have 18K+ genuine followers on that account. The dripfeed did help though as it certainly encouraged more people to RT than they usually do.
