Does anybody know a method how to get quality edu or gov links? I'm not interested in spammed sites where anybody can register and post a link.
I am looking for sites with a low number of outbound links. I am looking for exclusive links (no services).

Create the kind of content that a edu/gov website admin would want to link to. Otherwise, forget about edu and gov links because the vast majority of them are placed on pages with no authority, which makes them valueless.

Really ? If you post new article on any site that page will have no authority too. Edu root domains have High Authority. Dont post wrong info here.

There are few steps,

1. Find a site/ blog that you think is an authority in edu and gov and spamless.

2. Read their site's article and plan a strategy to write about it.

3. Write a highly quality content above 2k words. If I say high quality that means that gives high value to their readers.

4. Post the written content on your site.

5. Contact with the owner of the edu/ gov site and write a professional convincible email to him related to your post that it'll give value to his site readers if he point out this in his post.

6. The chances are 70%+ to getting accepted.

The .gov and .edu domains are important domains and to get backlinks from them, you need to have that extra quality and relevant content that can help to generate backlink from them.

You deserve the award for the worst post of BHW 2014.

No, as I've not yet tried this method. But I've had friends that works in that niches. So, these were the techniques that I learned from them. As, sharing is caring. :)

This 100% works, done it myself. Doesn't just work with .ac.uk or .edu sites - Pretty much any authority hobby site will give you a link if you put the legwork in. Awesome links, the type that shift your SERP skywards in one hit!

I am sure everybody knows this because it's common sense: find .edu blogs that are not auto approve, write a thoughtful comment (no garbage like thanks for the information I really appreciate it). Even if you do this 100 times and 5 get approved, that's 5 edu backlinks.
.gov is harder, I have never been able to get a .gov backlink.

My favorite one:

1) Find a garbage blog full of comments made by people who are pinging their edu backlinks. To do this, use google query strings
2) Look at the edu backlinks featured in their comments. Most of the time, AA
3) Profit

Thank you mate. I will try it.
