Thought I'd share something I came across last night. Not sure how effective it may be for some niches, but for my niche it's been mindblowing.

Check out the hashtag 'followtrain' on Instagram. There are different variations for different niches (you'll have to research these), but basically what they entail is a bunch of accounts that have agreed to follow/followback each other.

First off I'd like to say I've gained 1000 followers today alone (yes, one thousand) which is a big jump from the 200-300 per day I'm used to, and my bot has been OFF for the past 24 hours on this particular account due to temporary comment/like bans. So I wouldn't have gained anywhere near that much anyways. Not arguing at all for what has been 2-3 hours total of minor manual labour which I've done whilst watching TV.

Weirdly, I've been allowed by Instagram to follow the best part of 2000 accounts within the last 24 hours. For what reason I don't know, but I've literally sat in front of the TV this evening whilst hitting the follow button like crazy. After 50 follows it won't let me follow any more, but 2-3 mins later I can follow another 50 again.

Granted, it's all manual stuff, but it isn't a drain on your mental resources, and for those of us who have had success with follow/unfollowing (I get a very low percentage of people unfollowing me when I unfollow them - i put it down to my good content quality) it could be a good way to really boost the follower gains.

Why waste your time? Great you have an account with thousands of followers, are they interested in your niche? Probably not.
It has a visual appeal, nothing else.

Id take 1,000 targeted followers over 100,000 "followtrain" followers any day of the week.

If you read my post you'll see that I mentioned there are different tags for different niches. The 'followtrain' tag itself is useless, but I gave it as an example for two reasons: 1) it's a perfect example of the dynamic on Instagram that I'm trying to describe to you guys 2) I don't want to mention the exact followtrain hashtag for my specific niche because I don't want to reveal my niche.

So to answer your question: yes, my followers are all interested in my niche. All 1000 of them. So I'll take my 1000 targeted 'followtrain' followers on this Tuesday evening thank you very much... :)

My fault for not reading correctly. I will blame it on being tired :)
Providing they are targeted like you say this is a great method. Will test it out tomorrow

interesting. thanks for the tip. Yeah I just got a ban from statigram. haveent been able to use it in over 24 hours. hope its permanent!

Just a little update to this: finding the followtrain hashtag for your niche can be a real pain (if one even exists at all). I spent ages trying to find one specific to another niche one of my other accounts is in, and just couldn't find it. I'm going to experiment with starting my own followtrain hashtag in that niche and will let you guys know how it goes.
