How to find out the image's copyrights

I want to add my watermark on some random photos I find on Google and then add them to my website, imgur, pinterest, facebook etc.
How do I find out who is the original author (to credit him) and what are the image's copyrights?

I can see the same image from many different sources and I can't really find out which is the original. I wanna know if I can post random images from Google to my website, imgur etc and not get in trouble for it (negative SEO or something)

That's kinda impractical. I mean I'm going to use like 10 different images everyday. Can you maybe share your method of finding out?
Maybe just sort the google image results by date and see the oldest?

Search the image by uploading it to google images, and go to the oldest post. If you see the image on many websites, there is a high possiblity that it is a copyrighted stock photo.

Unless you buy the rights to the images, you are screwed. Just giving credit is useless. If you steal someone's photos, they can (and generally will) file a DCMA complaint. If they do that to your hoster, you might as well have dumped all the money you spent on that site down the toilet, because your hosting is going to dump that domain.

And if you pull that with Getty images, you will have to pay their asking price or they will sue, and you will lose.

Buy or shoot the images you need.

Google has a usage rights filter, use those.

pretty much, as long as it's labeled for reuse
