Hi All,

I bought a site from flippa....

I can see that the site has some traffic (1000+PV a day), i put adsense, analytics and webmaster tools, most of the traffic came from google, as organic traffic, but there are no keywords associated with the traffic (in GA), how can i get more information about the the traffic, the traffic looks like world wide so i will be able to convert the traffic to money....

thanks a lot.

Put the site into SEMRush, that should give you what your looking for.

You can get a trial membership that will last you long enough to do complete research on the site before you buy it.

Google Analytics is not useful anymore to check organic searches data. Between 70 and 90% of the organic traffic (depending on the site size) is encrypted, which means that you won't see what keywords those users searched to land in your site and it will be shown as not provided in your Analytics.

The best and may be the only way to check the organic KWs bringing traffic to your site is using Google Webmaster Tools. Under the "Search Queries" section you can find what KWs are generating impressions and clicks to your site. Not very accurate though still better than Analytics.

yes, Google is not showing organic keywords directly in analytics, but if you link your webmaster tools account with your analytics account, then you can view your organic keywords data directly in analytics.

Google Analytics>> Acquisition >> Search Engine Optimization >> Queries

Setup webmaster tools data sharing >>Webmaster Tools Settings >> Select your site >> save

From then, you can see your organic keywords data in Google Analytics under Search Engine Optimization >> Queries

Google Analytic is best for you... And you can use your Own Webmaster Tools which are included in your Admin setting.
Please check

You can use Google Webmasters Tools to see which keywords are being used by visitors to search for your website along with the associated landing pages, no. of impressions/keyword, no. of clicks/keyword, average position of your website for a particular keyword. I guess this data can provide you great insights about your organic performance.

You can then check for the current rankings of your website for those keywords and the search volume for that particular list of keywords. It will give you hell of a data if used properly.

Use GWT if you want to see the keywords. I don't see what's the point of having traffic stats if you don't have the keywords tho, kind of pointless.

Yes Google webmasters can give you an idea though you wouldnt be able to rely exclusively upon it.

Yes, Google Analytics is not useful anymore especially to check organic searches data. It is a lot different from buying real traffic. You can try to buy traffic online and they will give you the data you need to check for direct or targeted traffic you expect.

You can send me a message or email me.

pair what everyone is saying about ga and WMT with bing that still somewhat has the non-encrypted kw's

WMT is better than analytics for keyword analysis. But also use other search engines like Bing and Yahoo.
