For some of you the above might be a big fat joke. For others it might be impressive
1) Buy ad space - I purchase ads on Bing, Plenty of Fish, Facebook (which was AWESOME but then I got banned ;-) ).
2) Drive ad space to an optin page. I use Leadpages and capture people onto my mailing list.
3) Send to offer once they've opted in - you might get a conversion right there. Always send them to the offer on 'Thank You'.
User Clicks Ad --> Optin Page Says "Discover Which of These 3 "Health" Foods Are Making You Fat" --> User Opts In --> User Gets Offer --> User Gets Content Emails 2x a week --> User Gets Ads 1-2 to times a week
I'm also monetizing on some private affiliate networks. See below:

Here's what's gotten me my success so far to date. I think it comes to 3 things:
Automating my Email and Content
I don't do an automated auto-responder. Instead I went into Aweber and scheduled emails out based on the calendar for the next 6 months. I found high quality PLR on health/wellness.
I just sat down and KEPT updating this until I knew I had my email for the coming weeks/months automated. I hated it. Hate the interface, hate writing in emails. I nearly went crazy one weekend just doing this but you know what, hard work pays off.
So now I have a bunch of helpful content emails and ebooks that my list will get on auto-pilot. It's fully automated. 100% hands off.
When I feel like it, I send an email to my list with an advertisement or review of a product.
- Always email your list on a regular basis.
- Keep them engaged.
- Don't bother doing list building unless you REALLY want to build a relationship and promote quality products.
In my experience, people can make money direct linking and writing articles - which isn't as personal as email. So you might not want to do email marketing unless you can go all in.
Product Selection
You need to know your niche. I'm in health so I promote ebooks, recipe books, work out stuff, amazon, supplements. For ClickBank - I look for a video sales letter and review the quality of the sales copy. (Google Blair Warren 1 Minute Persuasion on what to look for in sales copy). I make sure the sales page has NO leaks. Meaning that the user can't optin. If the user opts in - in my own experience, the vendor will overwrite your cookie or start promoting other stuff to them.
So basically:
- No email option
- Content rich or killer VSL
- look for low priced offers - these are converting well
- look for high gravity (in my experience - the higher the better)
PPC Traffic
This is hard to cover - and an area I'm struggling in. My earnings were amazing when I had my Facebook account, and while I don't think I promote anything controversial - I mistakingly linked to some stuff with exit pops and was banned :-(.
But on Bing & POF I'm spending about .20 per click. My lead pages optin is converting at about 25%.
On Bing, I segment a lot - I target high traffic, low value keywords. These are not "money" keywords, or "hot" keywords - just keywords that are high traffic - I figure once I get a visitor to optin, they will eventually buy something.
Well, that's that.
I think for me it's all come down to scaling up . I've got a good system in place and if I can add more leads onto my list, it should take care of itself.
All the best - I'm open to advice and suggestions and happy to answer any questions. It's been a real struggle with Bing & POF - I might take some of my earnings and put it into PPV. I really miss that Facebook Ads account ;-)
