first attempt at landing page

I'm trying to learn how to create landing pages to build an email list. I have looked in to many CB products, but the one I settled on for my first attempt was forex. Maybe stupid because i hear it's a competitive space, but I'm just trying to get some experience and I have some general knowledge of the forex market. I'm trying to learn what it takes to build a good landing page.
Something I'm kinda wondering is it seems like a tougher sale when your trying to get their email but you don't have anything of value to offer, except a link to the product...
I am going to create some content, maybe not in this niche, that I can give away on landing pages and hopefully garner email info that way.

Attached is a screenshot of my forex landing page. Any input would be great.

For your first attempt it looks good. However, looking at some of the forex landing pages that pop up on different sites I visit, your LP isn't up to par yet IMO.

A good place to create optin LP's is leadpages.net

But keep it up OP. You're getting there.

Thanks, it's of course a work in progress, but it's good to learn from experience. Yeah the other pages out there are a bit more spiffed up. I'll have to figure something out.
it's hard to even gauge the response to the page at this point because i get so few clicks.
I think my titles and descriptions need a lot of work, because my clicks to impressions ratio doesn't appear favorable.
At nearly 12,000 impressions, and only 10 clicks... kinda laughable actually..

anyone have any relevant input or experience in the forex affiliate market?
maybe i'm not aiming at targeted traffic?
i figured anything forex systems, forex signals, day trading systems, make money with forex type keywords would be relevant
also, this is only one traffic source... can anyone tell me anything about the clicks vs impressions ratio?

BTW you spelt "access" wrong if you haven't already noticed. miss spellings are a big turn off IMO so wouldn't want you to put it out there without realising.

damn i didn't even notice the misspelling. i changed the button altogether though, so no worries. thanks for pointing that out though

yeah i was trying to send traffic straight to an affiliate offer at first, but with no sales i decided to try a landing page.
haven't really gotten back to it for a few days, but i know it's not doing great. i'll update when i've got more to share.

Nice and simple. If i were you I would hire a professional copywriter to do your page. It will not cost much because there is not a lot of text but those guys can really make a difference in conversions.

One thing to think about is geo-targeting as well and also scarcity e.g. Have some code that says something like "Visitor from Los Angeles, sign up now and receive a free copy of our exclusive report - only ten left" - that works wonders in conversions

that's interesting. sounds like a good idea, especially the sense of urgency factor "only 10 left"

I use aweber for auto-responder service. One thing I've noticed is that many people will enter there info to gain access to the offer, but very few will confirm their email and really end up on my list. Is this because I am linking directly to the offer from the opt-in form? Should I require confirmation of email first, and then simply send them the link to the offer in the first auto-response?
For example, the angle I'm using right now is, "gain access to this free video", so should I not redirect directly to the video, but require email confirmation before I respond with the video/offer link?

1. Too many words. Try to eliminate about 50% of what you have but still send the same message
2. The Words In Your Heading And Optin Page Should All Be Caps Just Like This Sentence.
3. Take out the name, you will get about 15%-22% more optins if all they have to fill out is their email (I know this from testing) Keep in mind your autoresponder series will not have their name in it but most of the time it is a bunk name anyway.
4. Make these changes and then split test the color scheme and different CTA's (call to actions)
