Bought From Alibaba

So yesterday I've decided to buy from Alibaba. I found a 4 year gold company that was verified as legitimate. I've sent them my money using Western Union (huge mistake I know). They messaged me telling me the package will get shipped. I started asking them for a tracking number for the package, like they said they would give me. But I got no response for a whole day.

I sent a message over Skype telling them I would be willing to file a complaint, which got the guy's attention.

I finally got a message regarding the package, the guy just said "Yes it is now being shipped." I asked him again for the tracking number and he agreed and said he would Email it to me. It's been hours and I still haven't gotten any Email and the guy won't reply to any messages like last time.

Is he just fucking with me? Or should I wait hoping for the package to come in?

I understand I was paranoid and harsh with the offer. But I just wanted the proof that they promised to provide.
 
He probably has a great standing with his other customers who may never have used WU in their dealings. :). The company is established and old... you can't damage its reputation by raising a complaint, AND the provider is sitting in China... How can you possibly get "justice"? IMO, wait for 3-4 days and be cool about it as your complaint may not have any power to shake anyone's conscience at this moment. lol. Using WU was a big mistake, and now visible panicking will make you look very vulnerable.

The seller said "Yes it is now being shipped"... didn't say "it has been shipped to YOU", so imo the item is still in his warehouse, or is being shipped to him by his supplier so that he can actually ship it to you later. When the item is being shipped, it can mean that it is being packaged and labeled, but it has not gone to the courier company yet. So, wait for 3-4 days more than then ask him so that he may have a tracking number with him then. Check his words again, and you'll find that he is not saying that the item has been shipped to you already... They take time to do that (actually have the item with them and initiate its delivery to the final customer), and may not have the item in stock while they are still advertising thosr products.

P.S.:

I give him full credit for being so cool, respectful, and giving you polite answers while you're threatening severe action against him and a possible instant death for his business. :D


Also, take the time diffrence into consideration. If you're in US when he said "he'd email it"... probably it's still early morning hours at his place or late evening hours, whatever. He may have the package ready to ship, but the courier people are still at home either their office being closed at that time or may be they are still hours away from opening it for the day... Give him more time, dude! I'd actually put him in my good suppliers' book if he still delivers the item to you. :)

I have been ripped off buying stuff from China using western union, what did you buy? I hope it wasnt some popular electronic like a ps4 or iphone.
 
Update: He gave me the tracking number with a fake shipping company. Got scammed
 
Alibaba is a pretty legit site from what I've seen like others said I'd chill or contact alibaba, my gf uses the ali express app on her phone fucking hooked on it packages landing daily from china lol

Btw she's never been asked to send money by western union it's always by card through alibaba, shits almost instant with the app they released "Ali express"

When you order something first the seller either contacts his warehouse or gets the product from their supplier.
Then they have to go to the china mail and handle the package and only then he recieves a tracking number,
which will be given to you after he returns and places his stinky chineese ass on the chair again.

Also from my near 1 year experience the tracking codes provided from those guys start working after couple of
hours, not immediately!

Take a breath and chill, this is alibaba, its not some shady unknown website :)
 
Report them to Alibaba as some users suggested here ..
But how much money are we talking about ? Your order was more than 1k$?

Alright bud haha. This is all new to me I'm sure back in the day you also had no idea what you were doing. I appreciate all the advice you guys have been giving me it's been real helpful.

The only reason I'm questioning the delivery is because I was given the shipping website guarantetrustshing

Now I don't know what it takes to have a legitimate company but by the looks of that website, it could be made by anyone.

I don't know if you're scammed or not, but I was already ordering some samples (paid for) from China and what they do is they give their package to random shipping company (random for us, we never heard about ti) and then this company submit parcels to DHL. Why they do this? Because, instead of having 1000s of companies sending packages to DHL you have several companies sending millions of packages and getting discount with DHL. I got some ridiculously low prices for DHL air fright from China cause of this. Maybe I am wrong, I don't know...

P.S. They also gave me tracking No. of a local company but when I received package it came with DHL

Sounds like a good strategy on their part. On my side of the story this isn't China we are talking. The supplier I contacted is from Turkey. He never mentioned anything about me paying for the shipping. I got a phone call from this guy, he spent a lot of time in contact with me (unlike other stories I've heard).

It just got unsettling when he gave me some weird azz shipping company
 
You should be getting the parcel soon, and until then keep the nerves in deep freezer. That will help the nerves! BTW, how much money is involved?
