I've been saying this is necessary for years. Since Google the search engine and Google the affiliate, Google the travel agent, Google the advertising agency, Google the reviews site, Google the ______ have been unfairly competing with the websites in the serps. Google's "search quality" is essentially meant to sell more adwords.

Basically Google is trying to separate commercial traffic for itself and non-commercial traffic for others, while charging for the commercial traffic like Facebook charges for boosted posts.

The EU can't do anything about it since its not based in the EU and its an internet company, they also aren't going to wreck havoc on the EU economy by screwing up the internet badly by banning access to google.

The Governments of the various EU states has already done that, they don't need Google to screw it up

The EU was a total scam,just going back to pre 1914 era travel laws but updated to the modern age would have been easier and better. Also the Euro currency was just freaking stupid to introduce in an age where people use debit cards and credit cards. Traveling across Europe would have been no different without a single currency for the vast majority of people since they would just use plastic.

The world is still based on the old order, in a few years we will see a protectorate start up that whole purpose is to create a safe haven for transnational corporations. Such a small nation would most likely be based on efficency and could easily rival even the biggest geographic areas in terms of power within a decade or two since their would be no red tape or cultural views holding the nation back.

Even if UKIP were in power, they couldn't break up the EU. They'd only be able to take Britain out.

If that happened, the rest of Europe would observe the impact Britain's secession had on both the EU and the UK before even thinking about whether to do the same.

I also think most transnational corporations prefer an EU - one regulatory framework for accessing and doing business with most of Europe is far more economical than a different set of regulations for each country.

If it wants to do business in the EU, it has to comply with EU laws - just as EU companies who want to do business in the US have to comply with US laws. If Google doesn't want to comply, it's only recourse is to pull out of Europe and block access from EU countries.

But the thing is EU companies don't have to comply with U.S. laws if its an online company doing searches, since the U.S. government will never be able to legally block such a site.

China's military is starting to surpass the U.S. military in terms of strength, they have a new fighter jet, just increased their sub's attack range by around 3x, and they are able to detect the latest stealth jet by America by over 200 miles away.

^ LOL, yes right that's how the world works. Ask Microsoft or Amazon to see all the other anti-trust cases... It's not hard just head to europe's portal and you'll see all of them listed. Europe's GDP is bigger than American's and also the population is larger making it a very interesting market that -of course- can rule what happens on its territory as soon as a company decides to do business within its territory. And believe it or not it also applies to the interwebzzz: it's the same reason why your average joe scammer might be looking of an "offshore" hosting provider... It's called sovereignity... Politics will ALWAYS have the upper hand, just get over it and, as far as I'm concerned, I'm VERY happy google might end up being broken up, it was about time to break what I call (and guess what I might not be alone, as I found out) a "de facto" monopoly.

While I agree with you on the general sense of your post, it's worth noting China doesn't make public their actual military capabilities, so everything related to this field about this country is pure speculation...

How is an industry where people can easily create an alternative and going to the alternative is as simple as entering yandex.com bing.com ask.com yahoo.com aol.com duckduckgo.com ixquick.com startpage.com dogpile.com(and many other alternatives I can't think off top of my head) really subject to anti-monopoly laws.

Also if google was a true monopoly wouldn't it be blocking searches like "How to create your own search engine?".
