No follow vs. Do follow resource links

I know i should nofollow affilaite links but my question is about my resource page.

I've reached out to bloggers in my niche to connect and add me to their resource page and I do the same as long as they are do follow on their end. Is there any benefit to making my links to them no follow? I feel like I've gotten some do follow resource page links on some decent sites, some PR4s.

So you expect them to give you do follow links, but want to no follow your links to them in exchange? Doesn't seem right really does it? And it's not really necessary either if these are quality sites you are linking to. If they realise they haven't had a fair exchange they're either going to no follow your link or delete it.

Link exchanges have to be beneficial to both parties or it simply becomes pointless. No-follow links are an important part of your portfolio but not very many people are going to even consider a no-follow link exchange.

Well, link exchange is very beneficial for every folks, who wants to increase their page rank, link popularity etc... and wants to bring or drive traffic to their sites.
But, exchanging no follow link to them, is not the right selection, because many folks don't even consider these no-follow link exchange.

Try to get a link from their homepage and give them one from an internal page, and if you are feeling particularly prickish, link sculpt the page you link from so it has no juice.

Not that I would condone such a thing...

Mostly these links are on their "resource" pages with a few that are on the homepage because of a blogroll. Mine are on a resource page as well. Could you explain what you mean by link sculpting in this situation? Thanks!

Probably means like linking on yourdomain.com/crap-page-with-no-links/even-worse-page-with-zero-power

Haha this works too. Question: Does Google ALWAYS obey the "uncrawlable" rule, be it robots or whatever, or does it have a peek anyway and just avoid indexing it.

I think they generally follow the rule, but I remember reading an article that mentioned that the web spider can ignore this rule.

These folks took you at your word and gave you a do follow link on their site, essentially promoting you and your site.

Do the right thing and change their links on your site to "nofollow" and email them before you do it asking that they change your link on their site to "nofollow" as well.

Money has it that half will be too lazy to bother and just leave the link the way it is, "********".

Some will say leave my link "********" or we remove your link, just agree to take both links off and be done with it.

All will respect you for being straight up and not pulling shady crap on them after you gave your word.
