I asked this same question on DP (Question is better suited to there), but didnt really get a response. So ill ask it here then give up.

I am looking for a bit of help with my google analytics. I have been using it fine for quite a long time now. But recently google changed the way its displayed.

Previously : If you selected just the one day, it would show you that day in all the stats, however on the graph above, it would show that day, compared to the 30 days preceeding it. So that you could roll over the graph and just compare it.

Now : At the moment, if you choose the one day. ONLY that one day will show on the graph. Meaning that all you get on your graph is a "Dot", showing todays stats.

Its not really that helpful having a dot on my screen and i have searched google analytics help and searched through google with no luck. (Mostly because "dot" is a pretty common word).

If you dont understand what i mean, just log into google and select just the one day. And you will see that dot peering back at you :)

Any help would be much appreciated. Even if its a cold hard "No" you cant change it back. Would be nice to know :)

I like the change, I don't know why your stressing about it. Does it really make that much of a difference?

Sure does :)

Because i want to compare today to previous days on the fly. And not just one day at a time either, i basically want to roll my mouse along the graph having it tell me where that day stood for that medium.

I dont see how a bloody dot on your screen shows ANYTHING. I dont understand why they would change it either.

Then tell it to look at the days you want it to looks at, I really don't get why you are complaining.

I don't see any problems with this. Am I missing your point?

Ok. Think to what it was before. And what it was now.

Before : You got a graph, that you could easily roll your mouse over and check all preceeding days, right then and there.

Now : You get a dot. And for every metric that you are using to gauge your site, you have to open that page, check what you got for that day. Then the day before. And usually that same day last week.

I dont understand how you can not see a problem with a DOT being on your screen instead of a graph.....

I just checked it. I hadn't noticed it before, it's pretty lame, and I couldn't figure how to disable that...

You can tell it to do multiple days instead of one, so you get a graph instead of a dot.

I personally like the new one. It just fits my style more... :)

I was surprised by the change, however can certainly live with it.

I now simply select the current week, and if you need more data, simply 'Compare to Past' to get some more data.

Comparing to past and all that takes a bunch more work and you have to write down values then go back through and check them.

I have gone through google help and there is already a few threads open with other people complaining so ill wait for google to answer (If they do). But by the looks of it there is no way to change it back to the old way.
