i've been advertising on facebook's news feed for desktop recently and used their optimized CPM function. My first campaign was fine with CPMs of $8-12, but from my 2nd campaign onwards, my CPM rates would start at $20+ and above and stick about there. I have friends who target the same interests with CPMs of $8-12 but mine is just permanently at $20+ or higher.

Is my account being "blacklisted" or "slapped" in some way?

sounds like just a bad ad.
my ocpm starts at around $15, but by the end of the day its under $1
whats your ctr? im almost sure its low, if you improve that, the rate will go down

How much are you paying per click?

All my campaigns on FB tend to become more and more expensive. They're so greedy... At some point, I delete the campaigns and start over, usually works ok for me.

My ads are 5-6% on average. This is happening to all campaigns that I set up, regardless of how my ads do.

racket: you can get CPMs for under $1? Damn thats insane.

sashablack: My campaign is setup for website conversions, my cpc is about $0.60-0.70 for the high CPM ad sets.

lord1027: I actually deleted all my ads and fanpages to start over and it worked. But the high CPMs came back from the next campaign onwards. Even the campaign that had the low CPM seemed to be creeping back up to higher CPMs over time. I eventually dumped that campaign because the numbers just didn't work out.

IamNRE: Have you tried oCPM? Mind sharing your experience?

LOL... yes the same shit happened to me... They charged me like $15-20 per click... but I had set the budget to $50 so they only charged me for a hand full of clicks.

OK, so here are MY top 5 tips to get you results!

1. Use 6 images in your ad set = 6 ads.
2. Use custom audience = higher conversion rate since you are only serving ads to them
3. Run $1 a day campaign for the first week = so you can base your results and make corrections to your ads as necessary!
4. Sell a product/service that ACTUALLY sells!
5. Don't give up!

I might make a tutorial video soon :)

isn't custom audiences getting people banned and sued by FB?

$1 per day for the first week, does that give facebook enough data to optimize your campaign?

GODDAMIT! Where are you getting this info from? This just pisses me offf!

I have been doing custom audience for the past 2 years now ... and NOT ONCE have I ever had any issues!

OFF COURSE if you want to advertise "DILDOS" then you are looking to get banned!

$1 per day is enough for the first week to see if your ads convert or not, using this data you can then change your images etc...

Sasha in My Opinion 10$ a Day Campaign gives you better understanding of system 1$ Well getting idea from that will be not reliable in my opinion

Sasha, please can you give me some more information on how you setup your fb ads... if you cant do it ppublicly please just shoot me a pm... Its been a long time since I havent done fb ads and recently i want to start again but there are alot of new changes that I haven't tested yet...

what has my hobby got to do with this? dude i'm just putting it out there, don't get so uptight. i'm not saying if it's wrong or right, just telling what i've seen

So many things wrong with the information given in this thread

I forgot to say that I also use CPC. oCPM didn't work well for my tests.
