I have a website for my business and have using seo to get my site higher in our local area. I am not using the site to sell any products only to show up when someone local types in my type of business

My site was ranking 3rd for several weeks, over the past few months I have used some of the services here such as:
bookmarking, submissions to search engines, article writing, press releases and just finishing up with another person's service that posts to youtube, and does web 2.0.

I also have the ibusinesspromoter so I have used this a few times as well

I also did xrumer once and bookmarking demon.

I looked at my ranking today and my site is at the bottom of google on the first page or somewhere on the 2nd page.

When I was ranking high, my site was 3rd in position as well as sites that had linked to my site via articles.

Any ideas as to why my site has ranked lower now, would it have been from using the xrumer or bookmarking demon.

Will my site get back to where it was or any ideas on what I can do to achive this again.

I also show several backlinks to my site as well.

Thanks for the help

You're leaving out 1 step. When people search in Google for a keyword, the most relevant to the user comes up. Now let's say that 100 users who searched that keyword had to click the bottom result. Google will move it up a few spaces. You have to do the same for your site. Search in Google for your keyword (through a proxy), and click your link. NOTE:
Doing it just once won't help...

Google has no way of knowing whether people clicked on the bottom result or the first result. The links go directly to the sites unlike those of the ads shown.

You clearly haven't been stamped by google since you are still ranking, they probably twicked their algorithm a little throwing you a few spots back. Or you were ranking high because of "momentum" which is common for new websites.

Google has a referrer URL...

Its what is termed the "google dance" ...it happens. You should be back up there in a few days. You will sometimes notice that search results increase tenfold as well...see if that has happened or not.

Thanks for the help. Here are a few questions from the posts above.
What is: Google has a referrer URL
My site has not been stamped by google yet.

Also, when I checked out my google analytics, which has been working in the past, I see a message that says the analytics has not been processed yet or something like this, even though i have done this already.

Also, how is it that 2 of the sites I am competing for always are at the top position, there is less backlink, etc.
Could it be cause they have been there for a longer time

Thanks again
Brian
