Hi people! Oh wow this is going to be great! My life has been a storm of darkness for many many months. I use to work in a local bakery plus was friends with the owner. Life was good and I felt happy. I try to stay positive but my life has fragmented all because of some vital mistakes with my biz! My boss wanted a website where customers could order and pick up birthday cakes. I thought well I can do this and get you customers!! Looking online I found the going rates for building websites and charged him $1,000 to make it. Cheap for website development but my god using wordpress was a learning curve at that time. I make it trying to use the default wordpress template then paypal buy now buttons. Yes I know that it was not the best set up in the world but the worst part is we didnt even get one single customer. He suddenly decides to be mean to me and ask for the thousand. I gave it back to him since it didnt cost me as much to make it as I predicted but I lost money on the hosting! Few weeks later he fired me over his pathetic grudge.... So here I am! To development myself into the pro I know I can be and do more than what everyone thinks I can. I am really needing support and hope you welcome me here. I can see most people here make big money and maybe I am broke but I have spirit!

Hi Davids! I don't own a bakery so I let him keep it thinking he would be cool with me giving him the free site. Wrong! He acts bad and well here I am. So there went my job and I actually lost money. Since I have been honing my online skills but this cursed me I felt like. Hoping I will find a new start here!

1. Don't sign cheques your ass can't cash.

2. Learn how to fucking pay yourself! $1000 for a custom website?! I charged $1000 for a few on-site SEO changes and some SEO and ORM consulting. Unless you are living in India where tech talent is available for a low rate, you've got to bump your prices. $1000 for a cookie-cutter site... maybe.

It was a free theme wordpress site with paypal buttons and images so maybe my price was a little cheap but again I was hoping to land this guy as not only my boss but client. So maybe I screwed up but I am here to learn. Also do you have a problem with Indians?

dude take back your site. you should've kept your 1k. your boss is an asshole. He didn't get any orders because throwing up a website online doesn't guarantee sales even if it looks amazing.

Sorry to hear you had so many complications with a previous client but the good news is you just joined the right community to learn how to make money online. One word of advice I can give you is to start paragraphing.

Hi bakerboy! Welcome to BHW, I sincerely hope you find what you seek here. I am very sorry to hear of your loss of employment. You were most certainly wronged! Have you contemplated a lawsuit against your former employer for wrongful termination and breach of contract?

well, life is a learning curve - lesson learned ( i had a similar case a year ago - buying youtube views for a friend - all went really bad - lost over 300$)
