Where to get @domain.com e-mail?

How do I get a [email protected] e-mail with 100% up time? Mostly my host sets up a mailing server for me and creates such emails for me. But when you change hosts or when they have some problem, the email goes down. So I want to have an email separate from the host..

I don't know if i'm following you exactly, but I use the godaddy email plan, not the office 365. It seems to be up most of the time and I use the POP3 and SMPT for my bots. Iv'e had no problems so far.

Take a look at Mail-In-A-Box - takes about 10 minute sto set up and you have your own fully fledged email. Gmail stopped the free accounts adding more domains from today, so that was it for me.

Set up the mailinabox in about 20 minutes with 4 domains and 25+ email addresses. Comes with Owncloud installed as well for your own dropbox style thing.

You think? Apart from setting your DNS up and running a script I thought it was easy to do.....what problems have you hit? Only asking as I said I have only had it up for today and loving it, saves installing everything by hand, now thats a bitch!

I've come across it before but I personally don't use it, though you've sparked some interest and I might look into it.

Setting up the thing is in my opinion the easy part, the problems would be a decent VPS (without overpaying, otherwise it might not be worth the hassle to some) and hacking. Setting up your own email server leaves you with all sorts of security issues that you yourself have to mange. Though then again there's probably a very limited likelihood of you getting hacked, unless someone is targeting you or that particular script and they manage to get to you. Another issue I can see is the project being abandoned somewhere down the line, what will you do then? These are just some of the ideas that popped into my head of the potential issues.

Cool - thought you were a long time user that had hit problems. Even i if the project is dumped, something I can't see happening for a lomg time, its all open source so someone will pick it up......failing that, its back to doing it all by hand again

Another vote for zoho. It's especially useful if you setup a catch all email address.
