I have some fairly decent experience with profitable blogging, and I would say that asking people what "niche" to cover really isn't the best starting point. It's not going to have longevity for you unless you enjoy what you're writing about. Even if somebody was willing to tell you a profitable niche (and as mentioned above, most people won't), if it's not something you're passionate and knowledgeable about, you're going to flame out very quickly and make no money in the process.
