How I Never Pay For Domain Names

this is just a short guide i wrote explaining how to get domain names for free

What you need:
Fresh email account for each domain
Credit Card (prepaid & paypal plugin cards are best i use a walmart prepaid cc which allows me to change my address each time )
Note: if your using a walmart prepaid card they will charge $1 and you will get it back in 10 days this is because walmart puts a 10 day hold


Step #1

Navigate yourself to http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/ and click on "Get Started FREE" and register an account

Step#2

now once you have confirmed your email and logged in your going to want to click on "get a custom domain name" there might be a banner somewhere saying get a domain name or get a free domain i dont know they change it alot go through the prompts its going to ask you for info your going to want to put the info that is on your card at this point dont worry if thats not the name/address you want you can change it once we transfer it over to http://www.melbourneit.com.au


Step#3

Now your going to want to cancel the domain click on "Add/Manage Services" then "Web Site and Email" then you will see "Domains: Add | Cancel | Manage" Click Cancel it will want you to confirm do so dont worry its not lost we are just moving it

Step#4

Now we are going to transfer it over to melbourne IT your going to get 3 emails after you cancel your domain look for the one that says "domain is cancelled" it sometimes takes up to 10 minutes for me to get this one the other 2 are instant once you get it look for the line that says something like:

Office Live Domain Registry key:jes6htxr

this is what you need once you find it navigate over to:

https://www.melbourneit.com.au/cc/maintenance/displayLoginPage

enter the domain name and reg key and on the next page click "transfer managment to melbourne IT"

its going to ask you to register an account after that your good the domain should be in your account at this point i would go back to your live account and cancel it you can repeat this as many times as you want ive done it about 10 times now

I've never had any problems they might catch on if you do a large amount and yes its only for the first year but i sell all the sites i build before that usually

this is microsoft register.com is harder to do it multiple times havent been able to do it more than once

No, it will stay there as long as MSOL is there. MSOL means Microsoft Office live. So they are giving free domain, and three basic subscription modes. Dont worry, till the time you are providing unique CC info / address, they gonna give domain. Domain will be free for a year (Basic subscription is free but there tools sucks)

How I know? I was working as Tech Support fr MSOL for few months during there initial phase which was in August 2007.

More over, this works in these listed countries, US, CANADA, UK, Japan, India, Mexico and France. Mexico and India being added few months ago.

I get the saturation part, but it diminishes the spirit of sharing, imagine when all these non jr vip members shared their methods and ideas but in the end do not have access to it, then what's the point?

It does NOT work with paypal plugin cards

ive used paypal plugin cards for this and haven't had any problems remember you need to use the random name when registering too

I can understand where you are coming from, but whats the use of a method if a bunch of people who have no idea what they are doing begin to use it, and the company or the end user finds out. It becomes worthless.

Moving things to Jr.VIP appears to be the lesser of 2 evils. If it is there at least people will profit from the method. If it is here it will get bent over raped and left for dead.

With that being said, I do not think this particular method should be moved. It should be just fine right here. If it gets saturated and does not work, oh well. Its only saving you a few bucks

how can you not have access to an idea that you bring aboard? Isn't it by nature embedded in your brain or stored elsewhere? I'm sure you didn't open up the thread, come up with the grand idea right there, and then post it right?

That being said, I don't see how it could saturate; maybe increase the market competition for these guys selling cheap domains. I myself wouldn't jump through that many hoops to save a few bucks per domain when I can find some friends to get them still cheap, but without the ordeal. :/
