Hello guys I tried HostWinds web hosting and it's time for a short review...

IF you are blackhat or even greyhat don't use them, they will block your website for smallest TOS violations...

Anything you can think of that is blackhat will not last there...

Advice for both BHW & hostwinds owners: Don't advertise a hosting service on a blackhat forum, that doesn't allow blackhat content.

Don't ask if I have some gr8 hosting to recommend, because I don't all I can say for now is don't use these:
HostWinds, WebHostingPad, iPage, Justhost - you will not last more then a month

Piece! :cool:

Yeah, I know they don't, but I didn't had any problems with them until the DMCA complaint. Other than that, they are good to me.

If by blackhat content you mean:

Stolen Content, Copyright content, or child porn, then no we do not allow those things on our hosting.

We are a US based hosting company, and thus we are bound to the laws of the United States of America. I am sorry that you had a bad experience, however, we are very up front with our policies. If you shoot me a PM with your email on file with us, I will gladly take a look, and see what I can do.

i have been with hostwinds for close to a year maybe more i have 2 say that the support is top notch. very fast

I've been with Hostwinds for 2 years. I am going to 3rd year this month. Their support is fast. Just a few days ago, the invoice showed higher amount than the previous one. I opened a ticket and it was resolved within an hour. As long as you don't break their TOS, they are fine. I have a few WP blogs and static sites. I am impressed with their uptime as well.

Of course I don't, btw comparing those is like comparing stealing a chewing gum with robbing a bank.
I don't understand promoting your hosting on this kind of forum...

@others:

This is my honest experience, some of us like Hostwinds some don't...I don't care if you do or don't I just wish someone posted this thread year ago so I can weed out some hosting companies.

By far Hostwinds is on one of my top recommendation.
They had some down moments long ago ( All hosting has that problem )
But they are really stable, fast and superb support.

@OP,
Do not confuse between Blackhat and Fraud/illegal.
Now I am not telling you committed any of that but its always better to read TOS before using any service.

Problem is I'm not...when I said bh i ment bh...

so tell us
what u were doing on that hosting that got u banned
how did u break their tos ?

It's irrelevant, if they claim to be a web hosting for BHers & advertise on BH forums then they should do things differently.
Let's just say if you do the things you learn on this forum & purchase Hostwinds web hosting you will get banned very fast.

It is clearly relevant what you actually did, as the broad spectrum of term and conditions broken, is a clear indication of whether your review is trustworthy or not.

You should actually read the threads you post in and post something honest and relevant, instead of just boosting your post number... :grumble:

No many of us run regular sites with Adsense and only use bh link tactics. Why not share what you did, none of us care if you were streaming PPV events or selling drugs or whatever it's just useful to know what it is they don't tolerate. Right now people with thin sites promoting CB products could be worrying and avoid the host as a result. This is unfair to the host and damaging their ROI.

Greyhat which you specified in the OP sounds like it'd affect Clickbank sellers and more innocent things.

I am using hostwinds vps for more than 1 year.
I haven't had a single problem with them at all.
Also their support is top notch,very fast responses.

Hostwinds' refund policy is also messed up. I just failed to cancel my account by a few hours and was charged $21 for their VPS. When I asked for a refund because I won't be using their service anymore, they declined to give me a refund. And I'm using their service for just regular blogging, no focus on SEO, black/grey hat tricks. Just good old blogging.

You must be doing something nasty if you don't wanna say what you're where doing that got you banned, my bet is PPI or some nasty shit like that.

Black hat is different from illegal I think :) Anything relates to the US law, you should take it offshore.
