I need some advice regarding naming my Facebook page domain.

Let's say my website is called DingDong.com (Which it is not - but what an awesome domain nonetheless!) - I check Facebook for the correlating domain and facebook.com/DingDong is taken.

When you type in facebook.com/DingDong nothing comes up.

Is there a way to retrieve that FB domain?

If not, would facebook.com/DingDongOfficial be a good alternative?

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Did you ask facebook about that? I would just message them and find out or check the facebook message boards. But I have a feeling that you can't get it until facebook does a clean up. But yes anything with the word official seems to work well.

or you could get facebook.com/DingDong.com (or any other TLD)

It is because someone have claimed the name and he's banned or deleted from facebook. You can ask facebook to reclaim that address if your business is legit enough. But I would just suggest choose other address

I looked all over and could not find a direct way to contact Facebook. Any suggestions?

i tried that. Unfortunately that wasnt available, which I thought was strange because I am the first person to register the domain.

adding official is much better nonetheless

I think so too. Thanks.

any idea of where to get in contact for such a request? I really could not find anything.

I'm sure the only way to have facebook.com/DingDong.com is this

facebook.com/DingDongcom

facebook don't allowed .com in your name (URL)

I did a little more investigating and it seems that if anyone registers something with a period - lets say facebook.com/Ding.Dong, then both facebook.com/Ding.Dong AND facebook.com/DingDong will be taken - I did not realize this! I messaged the person that owns the /Ding.Dong FB domain. Hopefully they will give it up!

If not, which would you guys pick?

facebook.com/DingDongCom (not .com. Like nikiobicata pointed out, they don't allow this)

facebook.com/DingDongNow

facebook.com/DingDongWow

facebook.com/DingDongOfficial

facebook.com/ThisIsDingDong

What is your opinion. Hopefully, this will be an authority site of some sort at some point. Thanks!

I would still try to convince the owner of the FB page, maybe he/them can be persuaded. Maybe throw in an incentive or something.

that is what I am currently doing. It's actually not even a page. It's just some girl in London her personal page. Hopefully she will go for it.

How does that work if she agrees? Does she just drop the name/change the name and then it becomes available?

If she agrees..Make her admin on the page you want to set up the username/url and tell her to type userner in the box..facebook will shift username/url from her fb personal a/c to the respective way..

Better contact gms team via email support using fb adverting account. They will help you with getting your desired username/url..

What is this gms team you speak of? I have been searching high and low and I cannot find a way to contact FB!

I have a page called facebook.com/mysite.co.uk so .com should be fine
