[FREE] Online Tool for Sorting and Manipulating Text Lists

Hey Guys,


Not sure if this has been shared or discussed before.

Basically if you're into any kind of linkbuilding, working with tons of urls, sorting through and manipulating lists, you know what a right pain in the ass it can be.

Scrapebox and Gscraper have some of this functionality, but a lot is missing.

I was wrapping my head around regex to do the things I needed to do, when a lucky search brought me to this site:

It's basically a library of regex that allows you to do everything you have ever wanted with huge lists of urls.

-remove lines containing X
-sort lines randomly
-remove space
-merge
-replace

etc. etc. etc.

All in one handy interface without having to fire up Scrapebox, Notepad, and so forth.

For me the the remove lines containing, and sort random have been absolute godsends.

Maybe some of you will benefit also

Ohhh,

There's also this little gem for quickly converting lists of keywords/sentences/whatever into spintax

I use it just about every day when setting up campaigns.

Nice clean interface that I find quicker than firing up other software.

yea, i think many of us use the textmechanic tool already at least from time to time, but don't forget one thing, if you have some sensitive data, maybe it's not a very bright idea to use it, because it's a web tool and as such, you don't have control over it, they can do anything w/ the content entered there, i'm not saying they will, but they can

most of this stuff can be done w/ notepad++ especially if you download a few addons to it, like textfx, no regex knowledge needed

you took the idea one step further, i haven't thought about Google when i said that , but the owner of the site and i haven't thought about just SEO type of data, but any data
however agreed, it's a quick and useful tool indeed, just need to be cautious when using online tools, that's all

Proably not a good idea to put your banking info, emails, etc. in there!

But for things like scraping tons of urls from a site, and wanting to quickly remove just all lines containing "tag", "category", "jpg" etc. This thing works great.

On the privacy issue, no data is passed through my server because there is no need using client side javascript. I let the users computer process the data, giving the user needed privacy and saving me bandwidth/cpu. However, client side javascript can pull data from an input field and pass it via an url. I would not trust sensitive data to any website, not even a trusted website running 3rd party javascript such as advertisers or web analytics. My site is trustworthy but I prefer users keep their sensitive data to themselves. I think I'll add that to my privacy statement.
