Pinterest provides more value than facebook for marketers

According to a marketing report published November 4th:

"While it is no surprise that Facebook remains the number one source in referral traffic, it seems that for many people, Pinterest actually provides more value.


Facebook accounts for about 22% of all referral traffic. Pinterest, which is in second place, drives just 5.5% of this traffic. The top five are rounded out with Twitter driving .88%, Google+ pushing $.007% and LinkedIn at just .004%. Based on these numbers alone, marketers may be tempted to focus the vast majority of their efforts on Facebook, but it seems that this would be a big mistake.


The value of the traffic coming from Pinterest seems to be much higher. For example, people coming from this site viewed 87% more pages per visit than those that came from other sources. This, of course, is a key signal that the people are very engaged."

In addition, it is a known fact that pinterest users tend to be females from developed countries (US, UK...) with higher-than average incomes.

What this means is that for clickbank affiliates, pinterest represents a golden opportunity, likely to provide much better returns for time and money invested than other social media including facebook.

Interesting share!
I knew pinterest was used more by women than men. But not that they are above average earning women.
Looks like there is alot of potential here.
On the other hand, facebook pages rank easier in google (Atleast, that's what I expect.)
haven't tried ranking a pinterest page yet though!

From my experience as a vendor in the health niche, health & remedies products convert extremely well on pinterest (much better than they convert on FB)

it's the local time of your target audience
if you target UK people, it's GMT, if US people on the East Coast, it's EST, if US people on the West Coast, it's PST etc.

Hmm. Reminds me of an old ebook that was all about pinterest marketing.
Was interested at one point, but lost interest later on.

Indeed! When most marketers think about social media they immediately go to facebook or twitter.

However, as I had been noticing myself from my own affiliates, and now from this report, pinterest will give better returns.

In addition, because so far most marketers are focusing of fb or twt, pinterest is still mostly 'untapped' and marketers who get into it will enjoy from low competition.

1. I have heard almost 70% of pinterest are from mobiles, So can't it affect the affiliates?
2: I have a board in Pinterest but really don't know what I should do now! Can you please give us some general clues what your affiliates do in order to earn great money via pinterest? What mostly matters as you have noticed from your affiliates? Do they try a trick or just pin, repin, share and comment?

It is fairly easy to use pinterest to market products, as you said, it's pretty much pin, repin, comment, like and follow. The key is to use a bot to automate the tasks, as it would take a lot of time to do these tasks manually. There are several good pinterest bots sold by BHW members for good prices - check out the marketplace threads.

A generalized method to using pinterest + clickbank:

1. Pick a niche and relevant CB product

2. Make 5-15 boards all in the niche you picked but targeting different aspects and each should have a unique name. E.g. if the niche is shin splints, then the boards can be - "Shin Splint Cures", "Home Shin Splint Remedies", "Stretches For Shin Splints", "Shoes For Shin Splints", "I hate shin splints", "Shin splint recovery motivation", etc...

3. Each day, pin 25-40 images you scraped from the web (some bots will do this for you) and include your website url in 25% of them. The website url will be either your cloaked affiliate link or better - an niche-relevant MNS. The latter will increase conversions and is safer.

4. Each day, re-pin 25-40 images, but make sure you delete links to other websites.

5. Each day, comment on 25-40 pins; this will help increase exposure to your account and boards, and will attract followers

6. Each day, like 25-40 pins. Most people will like you back and some will follow you.

Well, I am a newbie in Pinterest, So several questions please:

So If I do that, Then isn't it against copyright laws/pinterset laws/ and most importantly may considered as spam/or a bit misleading promotion by vendors? (I like to be ethic too)

Most of the pins I find in Pinterest don't have more than a few likes or repins, Yet i am not able to figure how to find/search the pins/boards which are popular or have a lot of likes/repins so that I comment on them or repin them too, Any help or solution please?

I know I should follow the users which are in my niches but don't know which users are the best to be followed? Should I follow the ordinary users or sellers? What about the users with the higher/lower number of followers?
