concerning recovery: Yeah, I was also like *WTF*. I still have 20 penalized gambling domains in my portfolio, old stuff, penalized by Penguin 1 in April 2012. Penalty back these days was so extreme, but my sites so full of spammy links (>70% plain spamlinks, mostly spammed blog comment links from 2008-2011 which killed the domains after Penguin1), that I gave it up to recover anything in late 2012. In the beginning of 2014 I did some experiments with Cemper Linkdetox on these old domains, analysed links and disavowed up to 50% o the links on all these 20 domains. Took me a good 1 week of work analysing all this shit, nothing happened, gave it up again and already thought about just to forget about this old trashed domains. Then few weeks before as I ordered 2 VAs from Luckyman, he told me that he wants to try to recover some of my old domains, he did a test with 3 of them. And today I check my traffic stats: Bam... good traffic. I am thinking *wtf*, check my rankings and the 3 domains got all rankings on SERP2 for all their main KWs, just a few KWs still missing, but I am pretty sure it will come back to. Pretty crazy stuff, insane to be honest...
PS: And yes, less than 72 hours for my 2 domains with <10 pages, my bigger site with more pages recovers right now, just takes a bit longer for google to re-index everything.
