3 months ago, I joined an affiliate program. It's a pretty large company.

So I've decided to promote them and hit the threshold 2 months ago.

However, up till now, I haven't received the payment. First 2 emails I sent, received a reply saying they would pay within 2 weeks.

Now, its already more than a month and I've yet to receive payment. I've sent them many emails since but no replies.. I believe they're ignoring me..

What would you do if you were in my situation?

Who is it? I might have experience with them.Nothing you can do but wait and if they don't pay penalize them by posting bad reviews on forums.

There are 2 ways: 1) count your losses and move on. 2) Out them on relevant boards until you get paid and then move on without them. In my experience it's a waste of time to keep promoting programs that cause too much trouble. However, payment delays do happen. It's just that it's hard to trust them if they don't admit right away.

Hey infoasian,

I don't mind late payments or delays. The very least is they could do is reply to my emails. No replies, it's really..............

Yup, I've actually stopped sending traffic to them since last month..

check whether you are joining the correct affiliates or not. some products are having more than 2 affiliates companies

OP expose them :) Fu*k them, Kill them.

if you are not comfortable revealing the network openly then send pm and maybe we can help you with it.

Hi guys, that's it.. I believe I've already given more than enough time for their response.. The company is actually Groupon.. I joined them direct. Guess I have to count this as my loss.. Totally didn't expect this as they seem to be a big company.. Anyway, guys just beware...

Hey abhi,

Nope, I'm supposed to be paid via Direct Deposit. It was due on 15th Sept..

And nope, there was nothing I was hiding about the traffic source..

be annoying, but don't out them.

using this method I've never got not paid in all of the years I've been doing this.

Well you could -only for the irony- give them all the traffic they can handle and then some by firing up slowloris but they probably have defenses against such a clumsy attack. So your other options even though the smartest option has already been said, (cut losses & walk away) you still have a wealth of recourse ranging from finding a weakness and exploiting it in a purely digital sense to attempting to give the debt to some small-time criminal organization in their local area. lol just saying if you're going to choose against walking away get creative! I do hope those crooks cough up your cash though.

I'm actually surprised. Would have thought groupon would be a reputable company.

Thanks for the share OP. Anyone else has first hand experience doing affiliate marketing with them?

Hi all,

Yup, I always thought of Groupon as being reputable. Anyway, just some updates..

They just changed their terms and conditions and its getting ridiculous. They didn't have these 2 rules previously.

Just 2 points to take note.

1) Groupon will make all commercially reasonable efforts to pay out account balances due as provided in this Section 5. If,
however, Groupon is unable to make payments after twenty-four (24) months, Groupon may, without notice to
you, turn over such unpaid and undeliverable Commissions to a governmental entity in accordance with
applicable Laws. Groupon reserves the right to change its payment or commission structure at any time.

2) All payments are subject to any withholding or
deductions as described below. Groupon will pay you approximately sixty (60) days following the end of each
calendar month, provided that your GPN account balance has reached the payment threshold for your
currency and elected payment method as provided in the Payment Schedule.

Here's the full paragraph regarding payment:

5. Payment. You will accrue Commissions in accordance with the Commission Plan as a percentage of
Qualifying Revenue from a Qualifying Purchases made through one or more Links and/or for generating
Qualifying Leads. Payments will be made, in the currency designated by you in in your GPN account, by
direct deposit or check as elected by you in your GPN account. All payments are subject to any withholding or
deductions as described below. Groupon will pay you approximately sixty (60) days following the end of each
calendar month, provided that your GPN account balance has reached the payment threshold for your
currency and elected payment method as provided in the Payment Schedule. If your account balance is less
than the payment threshold for your payment method, Commissions will continue to accrue until your balance
at the end of a calendar month is equal to or greater than the payment threshold. If you select payment by
check, the processing fee provided in the Payment Schedule will be deducted from your Commissions for
each check that is sent to you. To ensure proper payment, you are solely responsible for providing and
maintaining accurate contact and payment information. We may be obligated to collect tax information from
you in order to pay Commissions, which you agree to provide as part of the application process. If we request
tax information from you and you do not provide the requested information, we may withhold your
Commissions until the information is provided or you are able to demonstrate that this information is not
required from you. In the event this Agreement is terminated, Groupon agrees to pay any outstanding
Commissions earned within approximately ninety (90) days after the end of the calendar month in which the
Agreement is terminated; provided, however, that Groupon shall not make payments for account balances
below the minimum threshold for your selected currency as provided in the Payment Schedule. Groupon will
make all commercially reasonable efforts to pay out account balances due as provided in this Section 5. If,
however, Groupon is unable to make payments after twenty-four (24) months, Groupon may, without notice to
you, turn over such unpaid and undeliverable Commissions to a governmental entity in accordance with
applicable Laws. Groupon reserves the right to change its payment or commission structure at any time.

I've already taken and accepted this as my loss.. For those out there already promoting Groupon, or thinking of promoting them.. Just to make you aware of this..

Anyway, I've tried izm's method of being annoying and keeps emailing them, but still no response.

I've already sent out about 20 emails since their last response..

What to do? What to do‽ This is what you need to do!
:joke:
