Finding good wholesalers?

Hi everyone. I'm looking to start selling on ebay, but I can't find a good wholesaler. I checked on Alibaba and Aliexpress, but the only computers for sale there are either mini android pcs or macbook replicas. If you know a legit website that sells computers for a bit less than market price, let me know please. Thanks!

Maybe try Salehoo. They're a directory website with thousands of wholesalers listed, with basic information about each company and sometimes reviews for each. It costs $60something a year, but I found it helpful.

You need to get off the beaten path to find stuff to sell in a lot of categories. You don't want to be competing against 800 other people who're selling exact same thing you are.

This is very good advice. There are many local sources which are constantly bombarded with older computers. However, if you are looking for something newer, then I would stick to alibaba or look for clearance sales and returned items at your local Best Buy, Radio Shack, or online in places such as Newegg.

IMO, in certain ways you're at a severe disadvantage against all these chinese sellers now because they're allowed to get away with stuff that us or uk based sellers aren't. In some categories I'd totally stay away if you find out that chinese sellers are dominating the search results.

With the recent seller update (few months ago) eBay seem to fixed some issues. eBay's update affected china sellers who claim to be shipping from USA, but were actually shipping from china using ePacket. ePacket can deliver packages within 5-10 business days. If it was delivered, it typically wouldn't take anymore than 7 working days.

While heavily undercutting US and UK sellers and having buyers thinking that they would get their packages within a week, their feedback was reeking lost packages and unhappy customers due to undelivered packages resulting bad experiences for buyers. And you know ebay doesn't want unhappy buyers so they addressed that. From what i seen, it seems to have helped.

I can't post links yet, so I will just explain my method for finding such sites. In google, I type in "sites like X." X is usually a wholesale directory that I already know of.

For example, right now I can type in "sites like wholesalecentral" and the first few results are from websites that index and recommend websites similar to wholesalecentral. Some of these websites are similarpages, similarsites, siteslike, and similarto. Sometimes other sites will appear in the results that have recommendations from actual people, like the website moreofit. These can be very useful as well. As you learn of more websites, repeat the process and your list of options will grow immensely.
