i been trying to search on the white hat forum for some details in regards on ranking a local business website for the organic search...
and mostly they talk about blogs and stuffs...but i think ranking a local business works different isnt it?
what would be ideal white hat method to rank a local business?

by the way, did u notice that google pretty much matched the organic results to the G maps results in terms of local search?

one of my websites was rank 1-5 for good traffic KW, and now after Penguin hit most of my rankings drops out of the 100's, some of them to the 60-70.
and for KW that dont bring the G maps results im still ranking high and almost no drops at all...

Ranking organic for a local site is the same as any other site, the only difference is when you're trying to rank a business in the 7-pack/maps listing.

Are you confusing organic search for listing into the local 7 pack?

no no im not confusing. its a business without a phisical location, and after trying to get the listing in google for like a year i just pass...i was ranked good for the organic results ...till Google's animal (penguin 3.0) hit me 10 days ago...
so im going to build a new website but this time i dont want to use BH methods..
i do have the time to invest, but guess i dont have the knowledge .
i made good results with BH methods but it last a year and now it all gone.

That is the downfall too Black hat methods.. They generally fail after sometime. There are methods to get brick and mortar verification without a physical address.
Do you mind letting us know what kind of business it is exactly?

I would love to hear about any methods to get brick and mortar verification without a physical address.
