How do people remove themself from the "search options"

I know a few accounts that somehow managed to remove themself from the search options, when i try to search their username nothing appears but when i comment @THEIRUSERNAME i can click it and then visit their profile, wtf?

How are they able to do this? I really need this for one of my accounts and i tried to contact them but they didnt respond.

That happens when a user is ghosted by Instagram. But I don't know if there is another way to do it
