what would happen if i did a fake youtube giveaway in order to PPD?
Would this be considered illegal? or could i simply just announce a fake winner and would that be fine?
I heard it could go under fraud.

Yes, it is fraud, especially when PPD companies often use phone # submits and charge your victims $10+ per week. It would be one thing if it just wasted 5 minutes of their life, but when happens when someone gets charged $100+ for 3 months because they didn't notice it on their bill, that's actual damages. This constitutes legal "damages" and is a checkbox for charging people with fraud.

I advise you, as a new member of BHW, to steer clear of anything illegal, like this. Some will disagree with me, but in my mind, black hat is all about thinking outside of the box and bending the will (and algorithms) of Google and the like to suit your purposes. It is not about simply defrauding a mom searching google for a coupon to The Cheesecake Factory to gain a quick buck. Yes, there are black hat ways of increasing your PPD earnings, but that's completely different than what you are talking about. You are just talking about a classic form of (serious) fraud, applied in an online setting

Likely, nothing would end up happening to you, except for eventually losing that YouTube account.
As you scale things up, your chances of getting in trouble rise.

Do yourself a favor and avoid it. Stop looking for a get quick rich scheme and start thinking about building a real business, in an online setting.

Tl;dr:
Yes, it's fraud. Don't do it. You probably wouldn't get in trouble, but it's not worth it. Build a business, not a fraud scheme.
