What's normal Keyword Density??

I have a lot of websites with keyword density in the range of 3.50 - 4%. I was thinking if that keyword density is OK or I should low it down below 3% ?? What's your preferred percentage?

I know a pretty respected SEO who thinks 3-4% is perfect.

Been testing myself and to be honest, it seems to work.

It's up to you at the end of the day, lower yourself to 1-2% for safety or punch it to 3-4% and see if your ranking improves.

There's no hard or fast rule.....

I would choose based on the angle I'm playing at.

like for example:

for heavy offsite seo then lower the density
for lower offsite seo then higher the density

this is a way of avoiding obvious signals and for density % wise I don't really care to be honest

The competition is doing pure KW stuffing like 7-10% & in some cases more... So i guess my 3-4% will be pretty much perfect...

There IS no number you can follow. Just pay to have professional quality writing that isn't keyword targeted spam and you will be fine.
