Hey guys,

I currently manage about 15 sites for clients with a range of budgets, $150-$300 to spend on SEO work, not including my time.

First, I do an SEO Audit, set up tracking, do competitive research and then do all the submissions manually, that's one month work. Now I am interested in getting into content and whichever other strategies you recommend.

1. Was wondering if anyone can share some advice on how to plan SEO work month to month?
2. How do I effectively do outreach to local or relevant sites for link building?
3. What type of work can I do over the next 3-6 months and also are there any method you guys use to determine what you work on next?

I know you may be wondering how did I get clients if I am asking these questions? Well, I work for an agency now and I have never had 1. limited budget and 2. monthly recurring clients. I don't mind over delivering per month a bit, but I certainly don't want to under deliver.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: $150-$300 per site/per month

Read the reviews on Marketplace threads, judge for yourself and experiment!

$150-$300 for handling SEO for 15 sites? I don't think that is enough capital for you to start any decent campaign for that kind of budget.

As answering to your question:

1. Depend on whether is it a brand new site or aged site. If doing local seo for new site, the very 1st thing is to make press releases for the business and also citations as well.

2. call, email, fax do whatever it takes to let them know you are doing a legit SEO business and pay them if have to.

3. do well for the above 2 points and come back for the no.3 answer.....

Good luck!

May buddha have mercy on the souls of those websites.

If that's 150-300$budget for each site, you might stand a chance in the rankings (assuming you're not trying to rank massively difficult keywords), but if that budget is for the 15 sites combined... You better work your arse off.

use blog posts and rank automatically. Use your time for other sites... simple!

This opinion is reasonable.

For each keyword, you need to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to see the top ranking at Google. This depends on the competition level.

Hey, it's $150-$300 per site/per month. Sorry for misunderstanding.

Correction: It's $150-300 per site/per month. Thanks

That's a small budget for white-hat SEO, but if you didn't care about your own "time" I'd focus on article marketing, infographic pushing, or high quality guest posting with anonymous posts if possible. Also, I agree with the post above about doing whatever it takes to prove that you are real. Webmasters and blog owners get bombarded every day if they have decent authority on their blog. You need to keep a spreadsheet and data and continually follow up on websites in your niche and only check them off as exhausted once they have given you a firm no, or haven't responded after the 12th attempt. Email, and get on the phone; it's persistence that gets the best links.

Not quite related but if you're reporting back to clients use Toggl to track your time and publish the report. It helps them see the work you put in during the early little-change stages of a campaign.

Thanks. My billable hours are in addition to this budget. Appreciate the advice.

I don't need to report to them, but good idea. I should save the report in case I have to retain client in the future. Thanks.

150-300 USD/month / site is decent enough to rank the website for 5-7 Keywords according to me.

Here are some of the tips I follow in my SEO routine and would love to share :

1. I do a detailed onsite and offsite analysis.
2. Once the onsite SEO is fixed, I analyze the changes and make sure that they are perfect. ( It's so much easier to rank a page with good 1000 Quaity words article properly formatted with h1-h6, titles and description tags having a couple of images or video embedded then some 100 words gibberish)
3. While the on-site SEO is being fixed I start with the Off-site SEO from the very first day and start building Organic natural references(Backlinks) to the website.
4. I build backlinks in a tiered fashion, i.e the main domain will get 1 first tier link everyday and this first tier link will get 5-7 second tier links and those second tier links get 10-15 third tier links. The reason I opt for tiered linking is so as to make the backlink profile look natural and boost the power of first tier backlinks.

I prefer using PBNS and FBN to generate first tier links, and also automated tools like GSA and SEnuke to provide a little boost to the website.

All The Best..!
Cheers..!! :)

Thanks for this.

Couple questions followup:

1. If making changes to the site are not feasible or fast enough (if the client's webmaster is slow), what is a good way to rank for more keywords using content?
2. For whitehat purposes, what quality of content should be used for each separate tier?

I'd be careful with PBN's as they are continually getting better at figuring them out, and you would risk getting your clients site flagged for having these types of 'paid' backlinks. The best way to rank for long tail keywords to bring in more traffic would be to update their blog frequently providing good resource content on the industry they are in.

According to me the content used should be original and totally unique. !!!!

You should keep these basic following points in your mind :
1. Firstly, the quality of content should be good.
2.Quality content should produce meaningful interactions with users. Search engines may try to measure this interaction ? engagement ? in a variety of ways.
3.Keywods density should be proper. Repeat each word you want to be found for at least five times or seek out a keyword density of 2.45%, for best results
4.Search engines love new content.

That budget, even on a per site basis is too low to pay for any manual work, including outreach if they are to see significant results. You should identify some of the best linking methods, get their average costs, including that of getting content written, then you could do your calculations.

I think you have a nice budget to start doing some onsite SEO reports. Something I find both interesting and easy is "Link Sculpting". Just review all of them searching for external broken links, ******** links pointing to external sites or irrelevants parts of your website...
It's also very easy to think about alt-description for pictures. Doing this, I once got a website to rank for a couple of very competed keywords from page 2 to top 1.

Good luck!
