How to rank new websites?

You can rank your inner pages for low competitive keywords very soon, but ranking homepage and your best keywords takes time.

I did this in 3 months on 1 of my sites: 10x niche related PBN links, 20x Web2, 20x blog comments on relevant authority posts, 5x directory submission (again, relevant directories).

Guess what happened? Nothing, it bounces up and down from page 20 to page 5 for main keywords. Competition has 12+months old sites and they rank on top with 10 low quality PBN links and couple of blog comments. Maybe I'm missing something, but ranking anything 12 months ago, was much faster.

Backlink is not the main factor to rank your site.. It just boost up your site in SERP that's it..

i think you need to do quality websites (not over-optimized and good internal links structure) and build high quality branded links for a few months then build some of high pr links

Same here. I have released my press, build some backlinks (.edu, .gov). And also ordered 100 blog posts. And now waiting for the results.
Also the keywords position is NTH :)

sir if you want solve this problem really please PM me domain i will help you don't worry

Make sure you are doing on page SEO right. Add videos to your posts to reduce your bounce rate.

If you have a new site, build social signals first - Google+ and Youtube do the magic. Get links from relevant websites only - preferably contextual links. Vary the anchor text and maintain uniform link velocity as you are building the links.

My suggestion is create more high PR backlinks and ******** links. Then submit your site on many web directories and do blog commenting on your niche related contents.

To check if you are in sandbox period. Stop all backlinking for a week. In 2nd week rent a 2-3 PR5/6 links preferably in same niche if you see movement than your issue is with either your links or your anchor text ratio.
If your website has lot of posts make sure you SILO the whole website ( the easiest way to do that is via breadcrumbs or wp tags) and link your homepage from inner page with LSI kw you want to rank home page for. And push backlinks to inner pages which will ultimately pass link juice back on to homepage.

You want a great guide on building a rankable site? Read http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/my-journey-discussions/702805-authority-site-search-engine-optimization-case-study.html' thread. Building backlinks isn't even necessary until you've got tons of optimized content. You don't send a baby to college after all.

Hard to say if there is no penalty then wait and work on link diversity, most probably you got tough keywords... On-page optimization, regular update on site and more links with better diversity...

You should be more careful while buying links or such services... Not every one provides quality so be sure what you are buying... Also yes these days it's little tougher then earlier to get rank in starting months...

are you updating the content regularly? backlinks should not be done asap and then wait for it to rank.. its so 2008

Google takes time. Focus on adding content and building legit social media. Be sure you're in google webmaster tools when you're doing this.

The best thing about Google is you don't have t do much work. Set up your domain name in webmaster tool and start posting. Google will index the site without any work on your part. You can start building a small backlink portfolio by guest blogging etc... Joining social communities that allow you to submit blog posts is aso a good idea. I would try to stay at page rank 4 and up. Also the oder your domain gets the more authority it will start seeing. Best of luck ranking I'm sure you will do just fine.

It does take a long time. I've had my site for almost 1/2 a year now and it's nowhere close to the first couple of pages. I'm not super aggressive with working on getting it ranked, but it's not like I'm never doing anything about it either. Although, for the first month, I was really active about doing what I could. Anway, my 2 cents...

I would look at what you have at the moment before buying or making any links to see if there is a problem.

So get some reports done on your site and link portfolio to pinpoint what may be happening (you may have porn links or any kind of negative seo from some of the services on here as its happened to me).

Go to any of the free tools or free trials like Raven or Moz and if you havent done anything like that before and your not sure, i like brightlocal as its for newbies.

If you need any help with what you see, many of us could look for you. Good luck

Does Google prefer web 2.0 and press release backlink still?
ok start building backlinks to your site, make sure you have a quality links, don't depend upon quantity of links.Create web 2.0 links, press releases, pnb, social signals, create a youtube video of you site and use your website in description and start sharing it with your friends on social networks.Do indexing time to time for all the links you have made

High authority backlinks on same niche right? I actually agree with your ideas. It might help him.
First thing is On-page SEO (Meta tags etc) Keyword analyzing is very important. If your Keyword is highly competitive then you have to work for long time to rank those keywords. Your website needs High authority backlinks. These are all some basic points, but ranking is not such a small thing. One more thing kindly buy the different services.

If you blasted a new site with a lot of links, then there is nothing unusual happen, create links to a new site is a last thing you should do,
first 2-3 weeks you should add seo optimized content, slowly, it is fundament, main factor. Secondary you should work on your on site seo and internal linking, to give your page extra pover. When you have already content and it is good optimized you will start to recieve traffic and your keywords buy this time already in top 100.

And even after all that done you do not go crazy, you can get some high pr manual social bookmarks, social signals, you creating social profiles to gain extra traffic from there and I suggest to build all tier 1 links by yourself and manually with high quality content, you build bussiness online and it can pay you back better then any day job, so just find extra time to do basics yourself, you will care about your site as no one else.

but on short SEO it is not about quantiny of links, about quality and common sense.

39 answers and only about 4 of them actually provide a decent answer... Seems like everyone with a post count of 10 is an expert at SEO. (i'm not claiming I am)

Anyway, if you truly have lots unique, engaging and properly optimized content (if not read the BTB tread posted earlier, matter of fact you should read it anyway if you haven't already) and your site is already a couple of months old, it might be a good idea to start at the beginning.

Did you do proper keyword research and did you manually check your competition to make sure this was a keyword you'd be able to rank? Did you achieve organic rankings without any backlinks being built? If your answer to both of these questions is no then it might be a good idea to re-analyse the keywords you're going for before you continue spending money on trying to rank them.
