Paypal limited. How long does it take to get an answer?

It has been 4 days now since I sent the documents they required to lift my limitation from paypal. How long does it take for them to look at this stuff and make a decision?

Who the heck will know for certain how long it takes them to do anything. Those things are handled by T&S.

From my experience - which is a very limited one since I had this only happen twice in the last 5 years - within 48 hours.

I suggest you keep sending them messages through support and imply how important it is to get your limitations lifted. They called me a couple of days after I keep emailing their support when I got the same problem back then. I did not even have to send personal documents and just had to listen to the cause of the account being limited and explained my part. Then after the phone call, my paypal was restored. It will take up to 7 days they may respond you. to my personal experience

I have faced it 2-3 times, last time it took them several days but don't worry if nothing is wrong it will be removed. For speedy process it's always better to call them, they act more quickly if you call them.

Call them and ask why your account is still limited when you provided all the needed documents, they will either explain problems and will give you option of speed up process or they will remove limitations...

It varies with how busy they are and if they are operating at full staff. Like others have said though, can't hurt to give them a call and check on status.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Calling them fixed my account instantly.

Just get a skype subscription for few bucks and call them. This way they unlimit in few minutes to 24 hours. Waiting for email support is not worth the time.

Thank you everyone for your help. I got the dreaded email today that it will not be reinstated and there is no chance for appeal. They used the bs line the decision was based on security issues. What in the heck does that mean? Is it concrete when they state it cannot be appealed?

maybe they have detected that you are making lots of accounts from the same email address or you tried sending money even after they prompt you that "your transaction cannot be processed this time". If you see this message, you should wait 24 hours before attempting to transfer/send funds again. Somehow, they are limiting accounts when you keep on trying to send your funds, I guess they are thinking that you are making fraudulent activities which makes you want to transfer funds fast. As to why, no one know. Only paypal can answer that but they will never disclose such information since users will always find a way to beat their system.

Well, if they banned you because of security risk, that's pretty much it. You have nothing to lose by calling in, but be prepared to start over.

I have read here that some add a new paypal to the account and it worked for them. Ebay is solid and great feedback etc. Can anyone tell me how they added a new paypal to a good ebay account that worked out for them please.

Odd thing is I only sold a few things last month on this account and not a lot of money at all. Sent payment to a bank account like I have for 6 or more months no issues. Did not do anything I normally did not do before.

You may have been picked up by a human instead of a bot. Sometimes a lot of sketchy accounts survive vetting by bots and the minute a human looks at your account and WHAM! that account is done for.

Not recommended because even if eBay is okay for now, it is marked forever as linked to a bad paypal. I suppose you could link a new paypal and be prepared for eBay to go down any minute.
