Anyone been sue for blackhat

I was wondering if any one has been sue by doing Blackhat SEO on their clients websites.

It's a bad business model in the long run, though, but you probably already know that.

for providing such bad SEO to enough clients that it
qualifies as mafia style fraud. (on-going still I think)

Findlaw, a lawyer SEO company is being sued for charging
$61000 and destroying a law firm's Google Rankings. (on-going)

What did you do OP? you seem to be worried. talk to the client and sort it out.

Of course, you can get sued if a client pays for one thing (usually whitehat SEO) and you give them something else (blackhat SEO). The case would be further aggravated if they lose their rankings and their investigation leads them to the conclusion that the blackhat SEO you did is the culprit.

Bottom line is, don't use blackhat SEO to rank the sites of clients that don't want blackhat SEO.

I usually make SEO for clients (companies). They wanted to sue me many times. Small companies will be penaltied sooner or later (even after 3-5 yeras), no matter when - it will happen. I always inform my clients about that and I inform that my methods are agains google's guideliens, because the only way to do linkbuilding with guidelines is not to make any linkbuilding

Sometimes they still want to sue me if penalty occurs, but never achieved anything.

About black hat SEO - we even had sth like FBI visit for forum spamming, but it was more about content - content spinner has made a post like "we are terrorist and we will kill you" It was a mistake, because our content spinner was grabbing some random articles, spinning, translating to different languages and sth like this was posted I was scared, but finally we were all laughing, because it was just a crazy mistake

As long as you make them sign an initial contract regarding your service with the necessary terms in re: google penalties then your back is covered.

Get a lawyer to verify all the contracts you create first.

Sure you can get sued. However I would imagine it would be very hard to prove in a court of law since Google makes a bazillion algorithm updates every year and for the most part the work can't be directly traced.

Be smart and clearly state in your contract that there is no guarantee that they will rank higher, and that there is a chance that they may be penalized. Once that is signed, you're protected.

how many years u want them to wait? in my exp, just buy them few package in BHW and they shall rank..

Contracts are there to protect you...

And don't do SEO for lawyers without having one yourself. Some contracts are just not lawyer proof.

I believe that most are very happy that their are ranking High even if blackhat is involved, but when things go the other way they will blame blackhat and that is when things get sour.
