Is dropshipping dead with BHW?

So I took like a 2 month vacation then I come back to BHW and their are no new suppliers OR anyone looking for them? And Im quite dissapointed since I now have a team of ebay sellers, and my own stealth account lol. So anyways, how did this section of BHW die and why?

Pretty sure the mods cleaned up this section. Lot of scams have been going on and they probably restricted noobs from posting in this section. I'm not sure what the current rules are but all I know is that BHW is a lot more strict with new sellers.

Too many scammers are able to post in the DS section so it has become worthless.
It would need some kind of verification, to make it worthwhile again.
At least evidence of a business address etc?
Until that happens, it is safer and easier to use alternatives.

But of course that's not the only problem. As far as I have read thru the post's here it seems that "buyers" have very high expectations of very low prices - like shipping is really for free to the shipper.

And it goes the other way around just as well. Sellers ( drop shipper, supplier's - whatever you wanna call it ) think that spending 10 minutes on aliexpress can make a biz for them.

Pretty sure that are quite a few REAL supplier's out there but as long as there are no firm rules in place for them to offer their goods - why would they bother to ? Just to get bashed and boo'ed ?

And why would a potential buyer, regardless if he /she is looking for drop shipping or bulk buying, bother with a seller who is here today and gone tomorrow ?

Yeah - some serious vetting and rules are needed to make this section what it should be.

I'm down for dropshipping. I've been dropshipping since 2002 with various grey-hat niches. Radar detectors, used slot machines, satellite card programmers, programmable satellite receivers. I have a niche i'm working on now. I can supply a huge amount of product for this niche, but this niche is already being done by many. The niche is 1.5 billion in total. The segment I'm in is about 500 million of that.

I'm also looking for other products to promote and sell. I've got a bunch of sites, mostly undeveloped cuz I took a 3 yr break. I'm coming back now and gearing up. I have 30k targeted twitter followers to get me started and some aged domains. Best thing for a group of dropshippers to do is partner up for the SEO and try to use our domains to help each other. I have 20 urls sitting here. But they're no good all linking to themselves on the same server. We need strategy, planning and long term relationship.

Most drop shippers here seemed to be shady acting obvious Chinese who had very little to zero track record and no company/website trying to hook you up with a handful of very specific products of questionable quality/authenticity. I'm guessing a ton of people got burned. The few samples I bought into were pure crap and priced as high as the big boys that won't rip you off. The market evolved and there wasn't room for small time middle men. It's a good thing.

I'm still looking for a legit company to deal with, but I am skeptical about finding them on any forums.

Finding someone on a forum that buys an item for $20, sells it to you for $35... then you (EB seller) make $4 or $5 and do all the work... meanwhile the 'supplier' buys stuff from those sites... makes the lions share of the profits and they even sit on orders sometimes... process the order in 1 day or 3 ... they aren't worried since they got your money and you NEED them more than they need you.

I"M not saying they are scammers. It is capitalism. But I am against the idea of the lions share going to the person who contributes the least amount of work and dedication.

I have done this in the past with 16 resellers.. I made a killing. But I would make an average of $6 per sale , my resellers made an average of $14.. some items $20 each. I felt it was fair.

I made over $1K a day at times... made a custom ordering database so they could track and place orders online.... had a full time customer service agent on skype to help them with questions and update orders. (in the end I lost the bussines becuase of paypal limations -- never trust those thieves and I gave too much credit to a few resellers that F**Ked me.)

I gave up trying to find them (suppliers) on any forum. They just want your money, almost all the profits and put in almost no effort to get organized. I am so glad they were lazy and greedy... now I buy my own stuff from china, keep all the profits and have complete control.

The other nice thing about CONTROLLING all the products is I only need 1 or 2 accounts to sell on... when you have suppliers shipping slow or they spend your money and block you on skype... well you need a bunch of accounts so when they screw you .. you have another account to work on. So now I don't need almost any resellers... just more VAs( virtual assistance) that work for $8 a day. Why give $10 to $15 commission for resellers per order when I can get 2 full work days from a VA for that and keep the rest of the profit?

If the old "resellers" weren't so damn lazy I would have been happy to continue allowing them to make profits off my work.

The only time I would look for resellers if I was FOOLISH enough to sell something that will get an account banned. Then resellers would take the risk and not one of my accounts. SO think about that if you are looking for suppliers. ;-)

Thanks for sharing your own experience. I highly doubt I will make good connections on this section of the forum... I have been searching for suppliers who can drop ship, and after reading different scenarios I'm definitely NOT going to deal with China based companies, as I heard just too many horror stories. I'm looking for legit suppliers in EU. I also red elsewhere that it's best to buy in bulk, but for now my budget is limited and I can't spend money on stock.

Good question moneymagnet246, good question. Either the legit dropshippers dont know about bhw or choose not to use it. So another question would be why?
